Mine is May 3. I just turned 15. I feel soooo old! LOL! Gotta look for them grey hairs! Teehee! My dad said he was looking for a nursing home for me. GROAN! ugh!

Government...whew...you are a tough cookie, Major! Loved history all my life. But most of the teachers were not very good at teaching. Bet you were very interesting!

I teach three sections of Government/Economics to a mixed bag of freshmen and lazy seniors who need one more credit. These classes tend to be problematic because of behavior problems (our school is about half inner city kids with what we could call "not much raisin'." ) I try to make it interesting, and I suppose that being able to say "when I was in Norway on maneuvers" is more credible than pointing to Norway on a map.

I also teach two sections of Advanced Placement American Government and Politics, essentially a college course, and those students are the best of the best, typically upper-middle kids with involved parents and lots of brain cells. We do a lot of hard work, but also some "fun" things. For instance, this year we did a "command post exercise" with students playing the parts of national leaders of the US and North Korea in a crisis situation. At the end of the week, there was a coup in "North Korea," and one of our students "launched all the missiles" and "blew up the world."

A retired warrior is a retired military professional. I was an enlisted man for 8 years and an officer for 12.5 years, and reluctantly retired, in spite of the fact that my career was going great. The reason I retired is that Mrs. Major had reached her maximum toleration point with the military. It's been eleven years, and to this day, when I pass close to an airport and smell the jet fuel, I get goose bumps.

I did it. Giving a speech in front of the class was easier than I expected! I got a 27/30! That's an A-. Woohoo! Yah! Oh-yah! Sorry..I got carried away.

BrotherJesse so proud of you! Good Job! I never did have a problem talking in front of anyone. I love to talk! You can probably tell by my post. But ask me to sing in front of everyone and I literally crumble. My legs go jello and my mouth starts stuttering! My eyes will even twitch. But good Job!

Major..I am so sure you must have your hands full...what can be frustrating on one hand can also be rewarding on the other. I remember my rebellious times...and I would have been one you would not have liked. But now I would give alot to be one sitting in your class and soaking it all in!

Also thank you for your services in the military. I remember one time of an interview with John Travolta I seen...he loves to fly planes...named his son after a Jet, and all he talks about is planes. I wonder if his cologne is essence of Jet engine fuel. ha-ha! I can certainly see Mrs. Major's point...and I can see your passion too...so glad I never had that delima.

Oh yes Major....I received in 1993 Carpol Tunnel in both wrist. Never had the surgery. I do like to talk. And As you can see...a little thing like Carpol Tunnel does not keep me down!

Audrey, were you listening to the Rochesters? They are my absolute favorite! That's what I'm listening to right now. Their song "Are You Afraid To Die." I've sang their song "He Loves My Like I Was His Only Child" I don't know how many times in church. I think that one is on their "ROshester's Live" CD. I love all their music. Have you heard Their new one "In God's Hands."? I just cryed and cryed when I first heard it. I love to hear Mrs. Becky sing. She has a beautiful voice.
Sherrie, is Carpel Tunnel awfully painful? I don't think I'd be able to type as much as you if I had that. You're a blessing!

Carpol tunnel can be painful as your whole hands and wrist, and even parts of your arm are numb. like they went to sleep. For me I realized I was getting it, while working hand assembly in the factories up in Michigan. My hand by my thumb on down to my wrist was just inflamed with pain. then it went down farther past my wrist and up my arm. I had to do therapy and wear braces, let them shoot electric through my hands and arms, squeeze balls, soak so many minutes in hot water, so many in ice water. Nothing worked. I needed the surgery on both hands. I got in such a pickle with bills then from not being able to work...that when I finally settled on my claims...I took all the money to pay the bills and signed a waiver to not resue for the surgery. I am not in any pain anymore, but I do at times have problems with strength in my hands. Sometimes things just don't work fast enough, and there will be painful times.

Carpol tunnel is when you repeatedly do the same thing over and over, causing the Grissel in your wrist to become enlarged so much that it pinches the nerve. It crowds it. there is no room for both.

I have had my share of wrist trauma. I wear a brace from time to time when the pain flares up. A heat sock helps during down time.
