Could this be in the near future? Obama is full of surprises. A lot of Clinton people in his picks. Perhaps it makes him feel more confident.

I like the analogy that Obama may be picking a "team of rivals" just as Lincoln did. People who may not like each other, but who are very good in their particular field. It worked well for Lincoln.

If you have not read the book, "Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln by Doris Kearns Goodwin I highly recommend it.

I'm not a Hillary fan, but the other name I heard was John Kerry.

If you force me to choose between those two, I choose her every time.

I Can't Vote Because my answer wasn't an option. I had heard of this earlier in the week although her office said she was in Chicago on personal business not to meet with Obama (now I guess that was a lie)
I just have to pray that this country isn't worse off in 4 years and that someone who is closer to a Christ like person is running for president and that I'll have a chance to VOTE again.

Hmmm, he could do worse. What I don't understand is why the man who has made promises to have republicans in his cabinet, who has been promoted as our first 'African-American President', etc. would not consider Condi Rice for the job.

Personally I don't see Hillary accepting the position. If Obama really screws up her chances at a run for the presidency in 2012 would be nil.

I agree, prefer her over Kerry and Richardson the NM Gov.

However, I would like to see Condee keep the job but I know they don't want nothing Bush left behind. I just think that job was made for Condee...

Now that is hilarious... We can just give her binoculars and let her watch for Russia to, "rear their little heads" out toward Alaska...

What a wonderful sense of humour! Saggy' that'd be 'change I could believe in!'

However, it seems clear from the leaks regarding his considerations for appointments and his transition team...... that there will be little real change. He's already gathering the same people who are established and approved by the CFR and Trilateral. Names, faces, personalities may be different, but the course of this nation is continuing on the same path to globalism....... perhaps faster now that there are no real conservatives near enough to the head to give some restraint and opposition.

    Time will certainly tell.

Maybe Richardson has enough experience to hold that position. But I am not sure any of them do especially not Hillary. What in the world has she ever done to qualify her for Secretary of State.

Amen! Kerry is useless! :tonofbricks: Actually, Hil might be a decent secretary of state. She's fiercer than Condoleza. I think our enemies might be scared of her too.

    What is CFR and Trilateral?

I don't like how many X Clinton folks he's bringing in. I think there is enough young, fresh politically eligible people on both sides of the isle that we don't have to dig up the past. The past is what got us to where we are, I was hoping to see different to get us out.

I actually predicted Hillary would be an Obama Secretary of State back in August on the "Hillary going out with a whimper thread"

It is no surprise, figured it was a trade off back then.

CFR is the Council on Foreign Relations(www.cfr.org) which publishes Foreign Affairs(www.foreignaffairs.org) to which I am a subscriber.

The Trilateral Commission(www.trilateral.org) is an organization that works on public policy issues for industrialized democracies.

Probably what we need is people with no experience in crashing the economy, increasing unemployment and starting wars. Bill Gates did pretty good with no experience. Abraham Lincoln did pretty good with no experience. Sometime no experience means not doing the same things the same way expecting different results.
