I keep hearing Hillary say that she has 35 years of experience in bringing about change, etc.

What exactly has she done? She was the first lady of Arkansas and of the USA, and has been a senator. But that is not 35 years.

    *sigh*

I won't tell you the comment that escaped my mental mouth when I read the title of your thread.

It wasn't terribly tacky in the great scheme of things - but for me, it was tacky.

And it wasn't directed toward the good pastor ;)

It is like padding a resume, maybe not an outright lie, but an exaggeration. It is true she was first lady of Arkansas and the USA and a Senator. I suppose one can call that 35 years experience if on was so inclined, but it is obviously not experience relating to being President.

There were some people at the government agency where I work who had put in for a promotion. On their application, they listed degrees from online college degree mills, and some got in trouble.

I am delighted that she came in third place in Iowa, even though I do not agree with Obama.

That "35 years" phrase stuck out to me, too.

If it is the same add she has running in my state, she does not say she has 35 years of experience with change, she only says, "I'll bring more than my 35 years of experience to the White House."

    http://www.hillaryclinton.com/video/118.aspx

And my reaction is "?" 35 years of what? She hasn't been in politics 35 years, nor leadership roles, nor being the wife of a leader, nor first lady, nor standing up for humanitarian causes, nor law, nor being a parent, nor even being a democrat. I dunno what she has 35 years of experience in...turning the truth around?

That really is a good article.

    Thanks!

Hillary's claim reminds me a little of John Kerry's claim to have served 2 tours in Vietnam by considering 4-6 months floating offshore as a tour.

Like Kerry, when she was 1st Lady and a Governors wife, she was close to those who were serving , but that's not the same as the real "experience".

She does have experience at failing to get Universal health Care passed. She does have experience at failing to leave Whitehouse articles that have been there for years out of her moving trucks. ....There's something...I guess

I guess if you really want to compare...at least she has more "experience" than Barack Obama.

She has experience avoiding prison time for lying about what documents she has not seen, even when they have her fingerprints on them.

I just got a phone call from Hillary. She said she had "35 years of experience solving big problems and making real change." I asked her what big problems she had solved 35 years ago, but she did not answer; it was almost like a recording!

Hillary Clinton has been working side for side with her husband politically since at least 1974 when he ran for Congress. Since his campaign probably started in 1973 that would be 35 years ago.

Experience in this case means more of the same doesn't it? I think no experience is giving him an edge in the modern plea for change.

Good point Pastor, I never thought about that but you're right...

As a life long resident of New York State - I'll be voting to retain Hillary as a senator of my state - that is until she runs for re-election!

    Her experience includes the following:

    Pro-abortion votes
    Pro-tax increase vote
Flip-flopping on several important issues - including Iraq - whether or not illegals should have drivers licences, etc.

I don't think you can claim breathing to be experience.
