    NEW YORK SUPREME COURT UPHOLDS SAME-SEX MARRIAGE

    This week, the New York Supreme Court upheld a county official’s recognition of a same-sex marriage performed outside the state. This decision, which will be appealed, illustrates the continuing need for passage of the Federal Marriage Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Brian Raum, senior counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund, predicted the New York decision would be overturned.

    Have you written your letter to the Editor of your local newspaper? Have you spoken out in church meetings? Have you called your Senator and Congressperson? Do you live in New York? Which county was it? Will you write a letter to the county official expressing your GRIEF?

    Six months from now I'll tell a group of SBCers about this and they'll say "Really? That really happened in New York? My, my, my. Have a nice day."
