I read in the news that some christians are now meeting in a hooters to reach the unchurched.
Why not start one at a strip club?
    What do you think?

You can find a good biscuit in a trash can but that is not the place to look for one! [IMG]

I do hear many say that they have good wings.
There is no excuse to go to a place where the girls are barely dressed and they are not selling just hot wings if you now what I mean.
Didn't men try to get hired and they wouldn't let them. If it was just about the hot wings why wouldn't they hire men?

Are we really going to entertain this discussion about this so-called restaurant in a pastor's forum?

    Lets get back to,
Is it ok to have church in a place like this to reach the unchurched?

Maybe this would be a better question for the forum.

    By the way,
the article I read said that it was a southern baptist minister who is behind this.
I have heard in the past that another southern baptist minister and some deacons attended hooters.
Being a southern baptist, this sickens me.

There a many places that pastors and deacons frequent that are far worse than this. But, I think this is the wrong place to reach the unchurched. Who wouldn't want to be saved if you could go to places like Hooters with your pastor. There are other places to find the unchurched and some of them got some great wings.

I've not heard about it and I'm closer to Kennesaw than Gib.

    It's called Singles Focus Atlanta...

Whatever floats their boat. If they do some sould winning, then God bless 'em. </font>[/QUOTE]I Disgree with this! and here are the Bibical Reasons why:

I'm all for Evanglism. However, I am not in favor for risking one's personal walk with the Lord, by going into the sestpole of SIN to do it! If those people wanna know about Christ, let them come to a Church and find him! or at least hold that thing in a more acceptable place.

sounds like a excuse to sin to me. and legit'ized by putting God's name on it.

Hooters is no Wolfgang Puck's, but it's not exactly a "sestpole" of sin (I presume you're referring to a "sespool" of sin). The waitresses there wear skimpy outfits. No nudity, or anything else. Now, I'm not saying we can take our kids there, and I'm not in any way condoning or excusing the nature of the business, but it's not akin to a strip club or anything of the sorts. A pub or bar & grill, sure, but a strip club? No.

On that note, many would also take issue to someone holding a bible study at a bar & grill, pub, sports bar, etc. Many would also refer to such an establishment as a sespool of sin. To that, I would say the same thing: whatever floats their boat. If they win souls, then God bless 'em. I wouldn't condone or excuse the business, but wouldn't put it on the same level as a strip club.

OTOH, Jesus shared the Gospel to a den of thieves and sinners. Why should we avoid the same?

And I presume you mean "cesspool" of sin.
