I agree, we need more public school kids ot be christians, christians who are dedicated to living godly no matter the world around them. You can't be light to the world if you hide your candle under a basket. We are to shine in a world of unrighteousness, not hide from it and leave no influence on it.

Katie---flip your Bible over to Psalm 127 where the word says that children are "as arrows in the hand of a mighty man." and that later on ---- when I raise them by the word of God---they won't be ashamed but will speak with the enemy at the gate!!!!!

You see, two or three things wrong here!! We send our arrows out too soon! I'm gonna homeschool my kids and view it not as "withholding" my arrows--but time spent "sharpening and shapeing" my arrows---me! I am the bowsman!! I am responsible for the sharpening and shapeing--its done at Blackbird's nest--- So, I am not withholding but I am sharpening my arrows. Nowadays---that's the problem---kids aren't sharp enough. Parents ain't sharpened 'um enough--that's why when the parents shoot them off in the school's direction---the arrow bounces off the school's philosphy and anti-christian--the arrow is designed to penetrate all this stuff and kill the enemy---nowadays the arrows being delivered won't penetrate a wall made of butter!!!

When the arrow is hardened against the world--I will shoot them at the enemy---the arrow "does all the talkin'" with the enemy---then it says that they won't be ashamed of their daddy or momma--see, that's the other problem---dads and moms raisin' kids that are ashamed of um!!

I've got one chance to raise my children--and they'll go into the world with their daddy's theology--I promise you!

Uhhh, actually, I believe Lot saw abundance of fornication. It wasn't addressing homosexual behavior in particular, but all manner of fornication in general. I'd have to read the entire chapter to be sure.

Although it can be said that Lot saw his fair share of fornication and adultery---the Bible is point blankish about the theme of the chapter--that although fornication was around---it was homosexuality that predominated the conversation between the heavenly visitors, Lot, and the sex starved citizens of Sodom!! Lot knew that those men were burnin' in their flesh toward other men and literally turned their noses up at the suggestion of even taking his own daughters---in a refusal they were saying, "They ain't what we're after!!" Lot was dealin' with a different mindset than a God mindset---God had given up on them and had already turned them over to reprobate minds that worked on manifesting in their flesh what was foremost on their minds!! I see the same things developing in America's Bible Belt!!!

There's been a few threads over the cause of destruction of S & G. Probably not a good idea to bring it up again. I mean no disrespect, just that I don't want to hijack the thread. ;)

In general--"Fat Boy" was aimed at Japan--in particular---Ground Zero was Heroshema!

God was just aimin' fire and brimstone at what He hated most!

Amen! We only have these arrows for such a short time. And it is looking more and more like they need to be sharper than ever in these last days.

Truer words were never spoken. Why is it that when we see something we don't approve of, we run and hide. Shouldn't we instead stay and display our own fruitful behavior? Preaching to the choir never improves the music.

Yes, put your light out to shine to the world.

Are you saying that homeschoolers don't have opportunities to shine their lights into the community? We actually have many, many opportunities to shine our lights in to the community.

Would you place a small seedling out in the harsh storms as it begins to grow? No, you place that seedling inside protected from the storms, wind and rain. When the seedling is ready to move on to the outdoors you plant in the ground. But, never before it is ready.

It is the same with impressionable small children. We shape them and mold them with our theology. We do not keep them from the world. In fact for us personally we witness to all types of people and I do mean ALL types. But, we do not allow ALL types to witness to our children.

I will NOT, I will NOT, I will NOT throw my children into the devil's den of a public school, not as long as I can help it. I know how bad things were when I graduated in 1988, and I KNOW they are even WORSE now. There is no way in this world I will do that to do them. They are CHILDREN. If we wanted to be a light so bad, we all should start getting into the devil's dens and take jobs at bars and other places like that to "be a light."

Amen to Blackbird and HCL! [IMG]

    HSmom,
I agree. I said something like that once to someone who said we need to be lights in certain type of jobs. Then I said, "What about the porn industry? They need Christ. So, we should just get into that industry too so we could get real close to witness to them." No way!

There's a world of differene between participating in a sinful activity (like being a porn starlet) in order to be a witness and participating in a neutral activity (like public school) in order to be a witness. Please don't try to equate the two.

I'm sorry but public school is anything but neutral. Even Martin Luther said that if the Scriptures were not taught in schools they would become gateways to hell. The Scriptures must be the core of any curriculum for the born again family. It is too risky not to have Scripture as the core.

    The cost is too great....

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Young children do not go to High School, but the recruitment and indoctrination is in the grade schools as well, with children as young as 12 attending the Fistgate Conferences. This is pure abomination and any who justify sodomites are also culpable.

    · March-April 2000. Channel 2 airs a program about a "romance" between a 29-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy which showed in graphic detail all of the nude scenes between them. It stated that the romance thrilled all of England and caused everyone to realize the "benefits" of sex between men and boys.

    · March 2000. The Fistgate conference gives graphic instruction to teenagers on the practice of homosexual sex. This was done in sessions which mingled youth from 12-years-old to 21-years-old. It was sponsored by the homosexual organization, GLSEN, and the Department of Education. Complaints were made to Gov. Cellucci and his staff, but they ignored it until some parents went to Massachusetts News which printed the story in May and shocked the state.

    · May 2000. A Massachusetts judge, Allan van Gestel, attacks the parents who exposed what happened at Fistgate. He imposes an unconstitutional gag order against everyone, which he lifts after the national press ridicules him. But he leaves the order in place against the two parents who have no money or power. It is expected that their legal fees will be in excess of $200,000 as the result of the action of Judge van Gestel.

    · May 2000. An Editorial in the Boston Globe says that what was discussed at Fistgate were "the sorts of things teenagers ask every day." The Globe said, "[actual list was so disgusting I editted it out - Dr. Bob]

    · July 6, 2000. The "At Home" section of the Boston Globe publishes an article which advised mothers to teach their children "the mechanics of sex," including homosexual sex, when their children are in fifth or sixth grade. [editted]

    Pure unadulterated abomination!!!

Apart from my early smarty-pants remarks (I should be ashamed), I am confused about where this thread is heading. It started as a lament for unregenerate adolescents' affinity for same-sex relationships and is now a condemnation of the US public education system in general. In some ways the two are related I suppose, but it seems to me to be an occasion to start a new thread regarding the latter topic. I am by no means a moderator but would like to make that suggestion.

Obviously, the normalizing of same-sex adolescent relationships is just another mile marker down the darkened road things our going in our society. While these events may or may not touch us in a direct and personal way, I do not think we should be surprised that it has come to this, nor do I find any fault in expressing saddened regret that society accepts them. Need we be reminded that we are told in the Scriptures that those who have not been born again are in opposition to the message of Christ and are, in fact, his enemies? Aren't we told that God has set his beloved apart and the unregenerate can't comprehend what they believe and understand to be holy?
