Did it go through the senate yet? I don't think it has as much support as it once did.

The senate will vote next week. Thank God for Democrats like Kent Conrad, who realize that us Northwesterners are tired of paying for Democrat-led bank greed and the East Coast welfare states.

And now the pig is looking so ugly (and no lipstick yet) that even Democrats are backing away. Obama's media anointed ability to lead the country is looking exceptionally hollow. It's now becoming more and more possible that the Republicans could deliver Obama's first stinging defeat and force the Democrats to completely rework this bill. Ironic that the result would likely save the Democrats from themselves, but it's better for the country, so let's pull for the big Dem cave in the Senate.

No, the Senate vowed to change it by removing the fat and adding GOP ideas. I guess we'll see if this works better then the house.

The 'stimulus package' is nothing more then a dressed government spending spree, for which we will pay, and pay and pay.

Check this out, GOP Governers, you know the ones down in the trenches and close to the people in need, this weekend they are encouraging Congress to pass the Bill. In the list is the ultra conservative just turned liberal because she learned what time of day it is when oil prices fell, you guessed it, Sarah Palin...

I guess the package is only bad when you're liberal but conservatives, well they represent less government so don't mind them.

Sounds like Ron Paul, who was "against" earmarks, but didn't mind taking them.

The governors are pressing for it because it keeps them from having to make hard choices in their own states. They can pass the buck to someone else (the Congress) and let them take the hit for it.

It's bad when anyone just wants to spend more and more tax payer money. The president is going to spend even more. thats what this si all about. And the only way to psy for it is raise our taxes. But if this is ok with you.

So the blame goes exclusively to the president and not equally to those in line with their hands out. Pastor Larry made a very legitimate point I think you should read.

It is all about the political shifting of the blame and no one wants to be left with bloody hands. One thing I can say for Obama, at least he is putting his name and finger prints on his actions for this bill instead of hiding behind others so none of the stain gets on them.

Everyone knows anyone who supports or even takes part in this bill will suffer in the polls in 2010 and 2012 if it doesn't work. I prefer a brave leader who says I did it than a coward who will later say, "I was against it all the time"...
