No foolish talk considering that the person I made the suggestions to did not even know me.

OK, here is my suggestion......start looking for another church in the area via going to other churches. And if your church notices that you are conspicuously absent & reaches out to you then your obliged to let them know how you feel & what you are doing.

Say, "Dear, there are things at the church that concern me."

Check out the website 9marks and the MacArthur Masters seminary site for church searches.

You are suppose to be the head. She is to follow. Find another church and take her with you.

Hey guys. Been several days I've been busy. Sorry for the late follow-up. I discussed it with my wife and all she said is it must be me and not the church. Yeah, it probably is partly me, but as I previously said, the dynamics of the church have changed. She got a little defensive and said that I want to change churches every couple of years. This isn't true. I've only started expressing concerns with her over the last year.

Just a few years ago our vision was plant new churches as our church grew and send with them new pastors trained at our church. Since we bought the new building, that vision died while our numbers continue to grow. This is fine if that's the new vision they have. Again, I don't think addressing my concerns will change things and my opinion should not override the direction the leadership is taking it. This is not my cup of tea anymore. I prefer more expository teaching and less topical. We used to get a combination of both which was perfectly fine, but it's more topical now and the messages have turned very vanilla.

I guess I'm going to have to suck it up and keep going and just pray.

This is unfortunate. Not sure what to do besides pray that God will open her eyes.
