Some fail to see that one can take a drink and not get drunk. But, that is for another thread and a dead horse that's been over and over again.

No I did not say anythng so there is no contradiction, just your rejection. . I gave the scriptures. You just rejected what is written. As for drinking it takes a certain amount to get drunk and it varies from person to person. For me just one beer would make me under the influence while for another it might take two or three.

Oh, I don't know; I think it would only take one bear to influence most people....

(sorry; disregard this interruption, and please continue)

You are correct. Some could be more influenced by the one, but all are influenced to some degree.

I don't think so at least not in the context of scripture since the Lord permitted strong drink and forbids drunkenness. In other words what is forbidden is drunkeness. Where that line is I cannot be absolute, but for most it is not the first sip or even drink and since it creaps up on us this is why I teach it is best not to drink at all.

Did you hear of the Christian who went bear hunting? As he was walking along, he came upon a huge bear. The bear also spotted him and immediately charged at him. He raised his rifle to fire, but it jammed. He threw his rifle away and ran for his life, but tripped over a log. The huge bear towered over him and he knew it was the end. He quickly prayed, "Dear Lord, please make this bear a Christian like me."
The bear immediately stopped, kneeled down and prayed, "Dear Lord, I give you thanks for this meal I am about to partake of."
    Sorry, couldn't resist.
