    How did Jesus know that:

    1. He would be betrayed by one of his own.
    2. He would die for the sins of the world.
    3. He would rise again.

Is it because it was prophecied in the Old Testament (which was all they had of God's Word at that time)? Is it because he, who is God, gave this message to his prophets? Is it because he not only predicted these things, but set the events in motion and predestined these things to happen? Did Judas have a choice but to betray Jesus? Could he seriously have thwarted the sovereign choice of God?

Judas was not acting at God's command or Christ's command any more than the Jewish leaders that rebelled against Christ were.

Christ said "HOW I WANTED to save your children BUT YOU would not have it". Matt 23.

Christ KNEW what they WOULD do - but never takes the blame for it, or commands it, or orders it, or declares them to be acting at His direction!

RATHER His plan is to provide the atoning sacrifice! HE NEVER argues that Adam rebelled at God's Command. God PROVIDES the atoning sacrifice for Adam's sin but He no more commands Judas to sin than He commands Adam to sin.

The fact that God knows everything does NOT make him the author of a the monsterous atrocities of all time. Why? Free will!

    In Christ,

    Bob
