I'm curious as to how far you pastors and ministers drive to get to the church you serve. I live about two miles from my church. However, I know a few who drive a pretty long way to get to theirs.

The first 11 years here in Mesa I drove about 7 miles to the church from home. This past year we moved to about a mile from the church.

The farthest I was from a church that I attended was 11 miles. Hated it during Bible School Week.

    Next was 7 miles. Twice.

    Five miles.

    Now two miles.

    Where I grew up--maybe a mile.

Our new church plant is about 92 miles out into the high plains at Dry Creek (Bill, Wyoming, population 4 is the nearest town).

My home church is a block and a half away.

When I was in bible college, I drove about 140 miles one-way to minister in a church every weekend.

After school, and a couple of summers of camp work, I moved to Denver for a while. I attended church in Denver, but the drive took nearly 40 minutes!

Last year I was filling pulpits at three different churches. One of those churches was a 45 minute drive from my house (I preached there every other week), another one of those churches was an hour-and-a-half from my house (I only preached there a few times), and the other church was nearly 4 hours away. I preached there every other week for a good portion of the summer.

The church I am working at now is 11 miles from my house. After the first of the year I will be attending a church that is only a 5 minute drive from my house.

Hey go2church...I have only 35-40 yards.

It has its benefits (all those things I forget I can just step out a minute and return before anyone knew I was gone) but I would prefer to be at least a short distance from the church. Plus my office is "at the parsonage" which is difficult with my 4 small children being homeschooled feet away...they come in too often...but that is another topic!

I have an office at the church so that is nice. Also the phone for the church rings at the house, which is nice, no missed calls. I have always prefered being close the church.
