yup, that is one big question.

does anybody here love God? how? in human terms it is virtually unimaginable. more so, it is God who should make the first move. otherwise, no man will ever love Him.

can somebody define the concept of loving God? if somebody here already reached the point of loving God, can they share how they are able to love God?

    no skeptic here. just learning.

    Aki,

I love God. One does not have to fully comprehend all that God is to love Him. In fact, no one can fully comprehend God. May I suggest, rather than writing a book here [IMG] that you get your hands on the book, "Knowledge of the Holy" by A.W. Tozer. That SHOULD help you tremendously. Also, pray before reading your Bible and ask God to reveal Himself to you and give you discernment as you embrace His Holy Word.

    In Christ,
    John

The bible says we love God because He loved us first
1 John 19 We love Him because He first loved us.
    And God is love,
1 John 16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

I think the ability to love God comes from the indwelling Holy Spirit. When I was a new christian I read this verse one day
Matthew 37Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38This is the first and great
Now this hung with me for days. I knew I loved God, but I also knew I did not love him this much. So I began to pray that He would help me to love him as this verse tells me too. As time went on I realized more and more He was answering that prayer. That in growing closer to Him, worshiping Him, learning how to worship and and learning about Him, and seeing Him active in my life I was loving Him more and more.
What I suggest if your having trouble in this area is pray. God understands, and He stands realy to answer your prayers.

Love is not an emotion, it's a decision. When we make a decision to love God and follow Him, we do so by action. The emotion that some people get caught up in is a response to the action.

If that sounds a bit off the wall, remember the typical marriage vows. We say that we promise to love the other person until death parts us. That doesn't mean we're going to have the hots for them every day. It means we are choosing to love them every day.

Humanly it is impossible. Just ask any unregenerate sinner. Even the very love we have or are capable of having for God comes from Him.For without the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit we have no idea what it means to love Him.
