How Long Is Your Sunday Morning Worship Service?

My church keeps "creeping back" the start times for Sunday morning. Sunday School now runs from 9:00 - 10:15, and Worship runs from 10:30 to Noon (or later if the Pastor is going strong.)

I am thinking this is partly why attendance is dropping.

Is this 1-1/2 for worship normal these days?

Years ago, my family's church changed to a 10:30 worship hour, but that was so they could get out at 11:20 instead of noon.

We need to do something like that in this town if one wants to go out to eat on Sunday. Every
eating establishment is full by 12:30. Actually, we church people should feel guilty that those employees cannot be in church, but we
    continue to eat out.

Our church starts Sunday School at 9:30 and Worship Service at 10: 50 or so and we are usually out by 12:15. I'm really not sure when the actual service is over because I play the postlude and the length of that depends on decisions and fellowship time.

I think when they brought the new start time to the church everyone assumed they were moving the hour block back, but instead they lengthened the service. It went from 11 to noon, to 10:45 to noon, to 10:30 to noon, only it works out more like 10:30 to 12:30.

And Sunday School went from 9:30 to 10:45, to 9:15 to 10:30, to 9 to 10:15 to accomodate the sliding back of the worship service.

Evening service hasn't changed - yet, but the church is holding a lot of plannings sessions and such between Sunday morning worship and evening worship. I know some people who have less time on Sunday to eat and be with family than they do on any given work-day because of the schedule.

We have Sunday school from 10 - 11, then our service from 11:30 to 1. We eat lunch at the church every Sunday, and have our second service at 2:30. Then we have the remainder of the evening to spend with our families.

Worship 9:00-till the preacher gets done
SS when the preachings done till 11:30

We worship first because of the TV ministry. By the time you get home you can enjoy the service all over again! Actually that has changed now, but we are used to the setup and this way we get better SS attendance. We're still the earliest church letting out so we get the best seats in the restaurants! ;)

10am start, generally finishes around 11. 11:30 tops.

Sunday school in Oz is for kids, we have it same time as service.

Night service was 7pm and I only missed one in few months we were there at the time, then they changed it to 5pm and I've only been to one :( Sunday is the only day I don't like being a night person.

I attend three different churches due to several circumstances in my life right now.

One runs from 10:45 to 12:20.
Two runs from 11:00 to 12:40.
Three runs from 11:00 to 12:15

If people are leaving because of time issues, what will they do when they go to heaven?

We are talking about the Netherlands here so we've got a +/- 45 minute sermon in a +/- 75 minute churchservice and 90 minutes of coffeebreak for everybody involved afterwards.
Communion churchservices and other special occasions can run up to 6 hours longer*.
SS takes about 50 minutes and happens during the service.
The whole thing starts at 9.45.

    * 6 hours extra is an extreme example happening once or twice a year.

I go to our early service - 8:30 - 9:30 followed by sunday school, followed by lunch and a full afternoon for nap or golf or football watching before we go back for evening worship!

    I LOVE early services!!!
