Based on what I said above, I will be glad to tell you who I think is saved, which is a big gap from who is saved. In my lifetime, starting with President Truman, I would say Ford, Carter, Reagan, and both Bushes are saved, possibly Truman. I think the others, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Clinton, and Obama had their eyes focused on power, greed, lust, or money and not Jesus. That is my opinion.

There is no difference between the two.

OK, if that is true, since I am a Christian, and IMO, the only one that knows that for sure, does your list since Truman of being saved match mine, and if not, why not? By the way, based on what Obama said about access to God, "there are many paths" and other actions, I would say he is lost, and agree with you.

That is the point of the thread, listing Presidents who are saved and not. If we have the same Spirit in us, then the lists should match. If they do not, that disproves the theory. A prophet has to be 100% right to be a prophet of God.

You might want to rethink that.

For Fourth Straight Year, Obama's Thanksgiving Message Doesn't Thank God

Yet again, President Obama’s Thanksgiving message eschewed any direct reference to thanking God, making this the fourth straight year in which the President of the United States has ignored the central message of the holiday in favor of political grandstanding.

I really wish you would be a little more precise in where we disagree with this. I have learned a lot from you, and at times, I have changed my mind. You have experience in being a pastor and training in Scripture. My point is, if we as Christians can tell who is and who is not saved, why would we disagree ever about any individual? It does not have to be a President.

I don't have all the details to hand, but seem to remember that President Polk had a pretty clear testimony of salvation.

Rev. why don't you go to the source and read what he really said instead of reading only biased double-speak columnists.

The following quotes are from his Thanksgiving speech:

You're right- this side of eternity, it is all conjecture on our part.

You got it on Brietbart ... as shown by the quotes from Obama's speech.

Old, those were direct quotes from Obama's speech. Even Fox news, if it quoted his speech would have had the same quotes. A quote is a quote is a quote.

You need to read what is said and not quickly give knee-jerk replies.

Read his entire speech. Obama mentions God twice ... as you see in the copy and pasted quotes.

Obama could mention God any number of times and it would be meaningless blasphemy. He is a rabid supporter of the slaughter of the unborn and his convention celebrated the slaughter of the unborn! That is what is true!

How many who are truly saved, guided by the Holy Spirit, having a love for the fellow man, would choose politics as a profession? My guess is the number is low, as the two are opposed to each other. In general, politicans are dishonest, greedy, self serving, power hungry and self centered slobs. There is not much in common here with the fruits of the Spirit. No doubt some of our leaders are saved. Have you ever asked yourself if your behavior would change if you were elected to a higher office with lots of power and money all around?

My personal belief is a person cannot be elected to a state, much less a national office, without selling ones self to one or more special interest groups ... unless you are very, very rich ... and even then a person would have to compromise their beliefs ... if they have any to begin with.

One may say the same thing about someone who glorifies leading born people to the eternal fires of a sulfuric lake.
