How should municipalities raise funds

    to pay for services provided if not through property taxes?

    Did someone suggest they shouldn't?

    There are many forms of revenue--all with pluses and minuses.

    But they should be as low as possible, so as not to overly empower government, punish acheivement, or restrict individual liberties and the rights to personal property.

    rbell <--proud to live in a state that does not overly burden its residents.

    I would love to see the following tax enacted: The "whiner" tax, or the "Tax us more" tax: When an individual complains that we're not taxed enough, levy a 10% tax on his net worth. If he uses the words, "Pay their fair share," hit him with 15%.

    (just kidding about the last item. We should never do the above. 12.5% is plenty. :D )
