I think it would be interesting to see any suggestions on how others feel this board should be modified, and who knows maybe your suggestion will be used.

I think it should be left just the way it is...with one modification. I should be a moderator [IMG] :D ;)

There should be an approval by a moderator of a candidate's request to join. Then if someone has asked to join with the email address of "[email protected]" or some such address (as has occurred in recent history) they could be blocked from joining.

Ah, one step ahead of you, Brother! The good webmaster just implemented a review system before a new member can post! ;)

I moderated a board for four years. It was occasionally a nightmare. The job being done on this board and the different forums is superb and I want to congratulate all of you on the job you are doing.

I don't think anyone who has not been there can understand the pressure involved. The sort of decision-making that has to be done occasionally reminds me of Solomon, two women, and one baby....

    God bless you all.

    In Christ,
    Helen

Thanks for understanding, Helen! There is such a thin line between flat out censorship and enforcing the BB's rules!

The moderators are working on being firm, but kind. Please be in prayer for us. We need the wisdom of Solomon and the patience of Job! [IMG]

I read a sign once that said, "Be patient with me, God isn't finished with me yet."

My motto is, "God grant me patience . . . and please hurry!

I haven't been a moderator but I can certainly say that I do appreciate the job you all do. You all are doing an excellent job and I thank you for doing it! It's nice for all of you to put in so much time and effort just for MY enjoyment!! :D

The only changes that should be made are those that the webmaster and moderators want to make. I don't put in the time and effort that they do, so it shouldn't be my choice. If people don't like how it's being done, then let them go start their own message board, buy thier own domain and maintain it and let them run it how they want to.

I, personally, like the BB just like it is!

I will just take a moment to thank all of the moderators and administrators. You are all doning a great job. None of us should take offense if you edit a post, or close a thread as you do it for the good of all.

    Keep up the good work.

Well mmm I guess I might have to be the bad guy here. I think some changes need to be made. Obviously there are people on here who are not really happy in decisions made so can we also hear from you all who would like to see changes?

My suggestions would be, lets be open to others, not accepting to false religions but open to people. I also feel instead of editing or deleting part or a whole post and then posting a discipline to that poster, it doesn't look good because then the other posters reading just see the discipline and not what the poster wrote, in my true thoughts I don't feel that's fair. As long as there are no offensive Language or lies then I really can't see why someone's post should be deleted at all, can someone explain this to me?

I think it would be great if the Golden Rule could apply to this board as in treating others as you wish to be treated, and perhaps we might get better results ;)

If Joseph is hanging around, I have a funny to tell you. On the cr/ev board you posted the 'compliants to the moderator' thread and locked it off. I have just finished hemming untold yards of taffeta and chiffon for my daughter's choral dress for a big day tomorrow. My eyeballs feel like they are falling out. I came in to shut off the computer and go to bed when I saw the title to your post. Only I read it wrong. I thought it said "compliments for the moderator," so I was going to try to post a compliment for you two. I couldn't get in. Then I saw what it really was and realized I really am in bad shape. But wanted to let you know that if you really wanted compliments, sure -- you're doing a great job!

And I'm still laughing at myself. G'night, all.

As the webmaster is temporarily unavailable I am going to step into his forum. The place to complain about Moderators is in private message to them. If you do not get satisfaction from the Moderator, take it up with the Administrators in private message. If you do not get satisfaction from the Administrators, take it up with the Webmaster in private message.

The open forum is not the place to discuss Moderator's decisions, or Administrator's decisions.

If you have a complaint, take it up with the Moderator, and be specific. "I don't like how you are moderating" is not a specific complaint. Give the forum, thread, and specific action you object to.

This Board has rules to allow it to reach the largest community possible. We make every effort to apply those rules as even handedly as humanly possible. We will err on occasion. Have patience with us and use the established procedures to seek redress of your greivence. Obey Matt 18:15 and following. Take it to the one you have the problem with alone. Not in public. Not in the open forum.

The rules of the Baptist Board are set by the Webmaster and are not subject to debate. Thank you for your cooperation.

I am now locking this thread.
