How to Blow a Job Interview - by Barack Obama
Imagine this scenario: I've come into your office for a job interview. You've already reviewed my resume and – though I don't have as much experience as some of the other candidates you're considering – you're impressed with my cover letter and how quickly I've risen in my field. And some of my references have even called you to urge you to hire me.

But something one of my references said during your conversation with them bothered you, so much, in fact, that you've decided to ask me about it. After all, my "ambassador" had initiated the conversation, so the question is perfectly legitimate, right? But when you ask about the remark, here's how I respond:

"If you think you're going to try to make my references an issue in this job interview, you should be careful because that I find unacceptable."
