How will others remember your marriage?

I was talking about my grandparents' marriage to someone today and the things that really leapt out in my mind when I thought of them. Things like when Willie Nelson's song, "Good Hearted Woman" came on, my grandfather would tease and say that it was written about my grandmother. How, even though I did hear them argue and fight, their love was a very visible, tangible thing. EVERYONE knew they loved each other dearly. How they survived a world war, a korean war, their home burning, their son dieing..... and it made their love stronger, not weaker. How, when she died he kissed her and said, "Bye bye, baby girl, wait for me."

Then I thought of my best friend telling me that what she missed the most about her father was the way her mother would blush and laugh when he was around and they thought no one was looking.

So - how would people remember your marriage?

As two people that are goofballs maybe? We cut up alot, lots of teasing and laughing and carrying on. We just have a good time. We are a family of goofballs here. :D
I think our love for each other is pretty visible too. I have a good man, thank God. We married when we were youngens, I was 18 and he was 21 and we've already been through a life time of stuff. [IMG]

    It was no accident
    Me finding you
Someone had a hand in it
    Long before we ever knew

    ~ * ~ * ~
    Now I just can't believe
    You're in my life
    Heaven's smiling down on me
As I look at you tonight
    ~ * ~ * ~
    I tip my hat
To the keeper of the stars
He sure knew what he was doin'
When he joined these two hearts
    ~ * ~ * ~
    I hold everything
When I hold you in my arms
And I've got all I'll ever need
Thanks to the keeper of the stars
    ~ * ~ * ~
    Soft moonlight on your face
    Oh how you shine
    It takes my breath away
Just to look into your eyes
    ~ * ~ * ~
    I know I don't deserve
    A treasure like you
    There really are no words
    To show my gratitude
    ~ * ~ * ~
    So I tip my hat
To the keeper of the stars
He sure knew what he was doin'
When he joined these two hearts
    ~ * ~ * ~
    I hold everything
When I hold you in my arms
And I've got all I'll ever need
Thanks to the keeper of the stars

I am sure people will say we were greatly in love, spent almost all of our free time together, always had fun together didn't go elsewhere for it, we were best friends. People say now you never see one without the other. we were asked one time in a resturant if it was our anniversary because we were holding hands talking.

She's been married fourteen years (well end of Aug) to me and I am the luckiest guy in the world. She is way more wonderful than I deserve. She deserves a lot better man than I could ever be.

So I guess they will have to say he was lucky to have had her. Poor girl.
