They can if they want. It's evident most don't care and won't change their lustful ways. It would be better if they date their own kind, instead of infecting others.

    I heard about that one.
Also, a story about a guy infected with AIDS who was trying to infect others with syringes of his blood.

And this has to do with this topic how? I believe the OP was how some people believe people with AIDs should be isolated and locked away from other people.

Care to share how this fits within this topic?

It fits. People infected with AIDS often use their own blood as a weapon.

Also, they will infect someone with AIDS even though they know they have AIDS, by having sex with someone who isn't infected.

My question was asked to LE, not you.

Since you piped in though, your notion of how it fits, well...it don't. People infected or not often use their own bodies to kill others.. Where is the line drawn?

Why just stop with people with AID's. How about anyone with TB? Herpes? or any other disease where another person can catch it from them? I suppose next you want to stop people with generic defects from creating life?

The original post you posted was about isolating people with AID's. If you start to isolate them, then you must continue with all people with infection diseases. I work in a hospital and see death everyday. Some people didn't do anything to catch what they have.. You CAN'T blanket the "whole group" with your screwed up ideals.

Let me guess, that was your answer, he just beat you to it?

Care to share your own opinion as to how it fits? As I have just explained to him, it doesn't in my opinion.

Aren't people with TB isolated now?

JamieinNH, it doesn't fit in your opinion. I posted this and it fits. You obviously don't like this subject. It would be better for you to avoid subjects like this in the future.

TB patients are still isolated. Why should they be? I don't see a pandemic of TB. I do see a world wide pandemic with AIDS.

LadyEagle has already said I was correct with what I told you. Just let it drop.

We tend to not let psuedo fundies push us around, Scribe. Your suggestion to folks to avoid certain subjects, and leave your hateful diatribes alone is rediculous.

Jamie asks a great question. By your statements, we should also ban guns, cars, kitchen knives, we shouldn't be allowed to open windows above the first floor, ban rope, any sort of blunt object, because all have been used by people to inflict harm on others.

    Where does it end ?

I don't think you make any sense at all.

If you mean true Christians by saying "psuedo fundies", then yes.

==TB and AIDS are totally different issues. The very idea that you would put them side by side is very troubling. But I guess coming from someone who puts AIDS and Leprosy side by side, it should not be that surprising. There are very real differences between these diseases and you are just pushing those differences aside.

If you and Huckabee really believe that the best way to deal with sick people is to lock them away then go ahead. Huckabee will never be president so his beliefs on this are beside the point.

As we still have thirty minutes or so before this thread closes, I'd like to throw out this thought for your consideration.

AIDS in these United States is pretty much (please note these qualifying words) under control unless a person is engaging in high risk behaviors. It is still a serious public health risk, if folks don't take simple precautions. So, here isolation is not a answer.

Where the disease is a pandemic and is out of control, the numbers are too large for isolation to work. What you're going to put 30 per cent of Lower Zambzei into quarantine?

If the disease is as easily spread as some on this thread would have us believe, San Francisco would be a ghost town.

Errm, no they are not under normal circumstances or for a long term (at least in First World countries). The last TB scare concerned a man with a drug resistant strain not some one with a garden variety case.
