I'm on Long Island and we're hunkering down for a doozy. The power company called us and told us to expect to be without power for a week to 10 days. So if you don't see me, you know why! :)

See you all on the other side of this storm! :wavey:

We have a large generator. Runs great - just doesn't put out a charge. :BangHead:

Guess that will be going in after this storm to be serviced! LOL

Intense family time and totally rad shadow puppets, dude!

In all seriousness, I pray for your safety.

In just as much seriousness, I hope you all find a way to have fun and be closer together as you go without some of the modern conveniences we all get so used to!

Have you gone through this type of thing before? IE do you understand the serious of buying about fifty can openers and putting them in various places throughout the house?! LOL And that they make drinks that self heat with just a twist? (if they still make 'em, they're cool...or, erm, hot!) It's great to have in emergencies.

LOL Gina! We're actually really well set. I have a gas stove and hot water heater so I can cook and still take hot showers. I never use an electric can opener so we're set on opening cans. I have plenty of batteries and it's not even that cold so we're in good shape with heat.

I'm pooped though!! I didn't sleep well last night thinking about all the things that needed to get done and now that we're here, I'm exhausted! LOL I think it's an early to bed night for me - after I finish the laundry and clean the kitchen.

Sorry to hear that, when Charlie blew through Florida we were without power for 2.5 months and on a generator. Under curfew as well.

I'm glad to hear it annsni! I'll never get over the trauma of having had cans and no can opener. Proof? It was 22 years ago and I'm still whining!

Well, in that case, it sounds like you're well prepared for the possibilities. Hopefully you won't have to prove that but if you do, here's hoping everything stays safe for you and your neighbors. Below this last sentence is a little ghost holding a ghost sign that says "boo to no electric" but you can't see them because, well, it's a ghost and a ghost sign and thus invisible. :tongue3:
