Why is it that Obama and his people get slammed for not caring about the constitution from the same people that want to ignore it when a situation arises they don't like?

For instance... The constitution says people that are born on American soil are citizens.. .well, just because some people don't like the fact that kids born to undocumented people ARE citizens according to the constitution, we need to do away with that part...

    HYPOCRITES!!!

Either Stand for the Constitution on ALL accounts... or don't.

But don't slam Obama for dissing the constitution when you want to do the same.

There's a difference between disregarding the Consitution and attempting to legally change it (or repeal certain ammendments).

Jon Kyl and Lindsey Graham are right. We shouldn't automaticallly give citizenship to children of illegal immigrants. If my mom and dad go out and rob a bank and give me the money, should I get to keep it? No? Well why should a child gain citizenship from the illegal act of their parents?

Because being in America without documents IS NOT A CRIME.. Crossing the border was the crime, a low ranking crime at that... and a child that was born here has NEVER committed a crime for being here... they are American Citizens.

There is an interpretation of the constitution that, if true, blows holes in your rant. You might want to research it a tad further before using terms like you use.

Okay TinyTim... I'll grant you your arguement that 'technically' they are not 'criminals', but they are here illegally and are 'Illlegal Aliens'. The argument that it's just like a speeding or parking ticket is ludicrous. Also, saying that a crime that is punishable by up to six months in jail is MINOR is quite amusing.

Under Title 8 Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, "Improper Entry by Alien," any citizen of any country other than the United States who:
    • Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or
    • Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or
    • Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact;
    has committed a federal crime.

Violations are punishable by criminal fines and imprisonment for up to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison. Additional civil fines may be imposed at the discretion of immigration judges, but civil fines do not negate the criminal sanctions or nature of the offense.

I'm all for legal immigration; it's what we're all about. What I'm not willing to just sit by and allow is the influx of illegal aliens without voicing my opinion on the matter and that opinion is 'Do it legally'.

The arguement that doing it legally is not feasable, thus I will do it illegally doesn't hold water in my opinion.

I can't wait to see what kind of racist I'm going to be deemed after this post, just know that as far as I'm concerned race has nothing to do with it. Period.

You hit the nail on the head. I've made that point many times before, but some of the connies just want to cloud the issue and remain willfully ignorant of the face that being an illegal immigrant is not a crime. I don't understand why the Right wants to punish children because of the circumstances of their births.

To solve the illegal immigration problem we need to increase enforcement against employers who hire illegal immigrants, with jail time for repeat offenders. Then, many will leave on their own. That will also help unemployment because employers who hired illegal immigrants will be forced to hire American workers, and they will be forced to improve working conditions, add benefits, and pay market wages. Many illegal immigrants work harvesting crops for below minimum wage. It's ridiculous that people get paid so little for such difficult, boring, mind numbing work. I think Americans will do that kind of work if you, say, give reasonable benefits such as health insurance, 401(k)s or a pension plan, sick leave, and vacation time and PAY MARKET WAGES. The illegal immigrants drive down wages.

I agree with you Tiny. And it does not stop with babies born on American soil. If the Obama administration is wrong the courts will say so as cases work they way through the system. It is interesting how these same people who are so fast to cry about the Constitution now said nothing when G. Bush too the stance of:

Obama took steps to correct Bush' unconstitutional use signings to negate the Constitution:

Ok, Ok, I know, the Bush apologists will go bananas over this post. But of course they continue to refuse to face the facts of that mis-administration.

Watch out, someone is going to call you a liberal.

Again, I ask. If the parents of a child steal some money and give it to the child, should the child be allowed to keep the money?

We have a process for immigrants to come into this country. People that disregard our laws and our borders should not be given special treatment and their children should not benefit from the fruits of their illegal behavior.

I'm the son of an immigrant. My mother came to this country through the proper and legal channels. Tim, I understand that you have a heart for the illegal immigrants. I totally get that. That doesn't mean that you need to disregard the laws of this country. I have a heart for drugged up teens. You won't find me arguing for their crimes.

That would be like if I told you to go back to Latvia even though you were born here.

You are ignoring a critical difference.

Matt Wade's mother entered the U.S. legally.

The 14th amendment to the Constitution was adopted in 1868. So, for 142 years this has been the law. Now that it applies to mainly Mexicans it is a problem. Why the sudden concern?

If we would protect the southern border, something neither party seems willing to do, and deport the criminal element that has entered illegally; it would be a start.
