XMZ, you said in your OP that the man in the video was very wise.

Again, I ask you, do you agree with him that Christians are "village idiots"?

Frank Schaeffer and MSNBC has the right to express their opinion.

The basic tenet of this piece is that 1/3 of "Conservative Christianity" either believe or don't know if our president is the antichrist.

First of all, I am a Conservative Christian and I don't believe he is the antichrist. He claims to be a Christian and by his attendance at a church with the word "Trinity" in it indicates that he is not even an antichrist muchless the antichrist.

Personally I would agree with some of what Mr. Schaeffer is proposing, on the other hand I see the old trick to find a looney-toon and lump him/her/it together with innocent bystanders.

People look past the facts and see only the phrase "Christians".

    Those facts being:

We are told that 1/3 of "Conservatives" in NJ either believe or don't know if our president is the antichrist.

We are not told the definition of "Conservative".
We are not told how many were questioned or the demographics of the questionare apart from "conservative" or NJ.
We were not told how many were in the "don't know" category.

Schaeffer went from "conservatives" to "Christians" in one fell swoop.
Christians were denigrated because many of us don't hold to secular humanists teachings.

IMO it was a bait and switch bash from "conservatives" to Conservative Christianity in general.

Of course the "racist" trump card was played.
Of course we were accused (obliquely) that we are dangerous and will resort to violence.
Of course the "left" looney-toons and their danger to society were not brought up.
Of course the accusations of Pelosi and other leftists against us as Nazis, etc was not mentioned.

The second piece was a vitriolic attack against so-called right wing "looney toons", however, the bait and switch tactic was again deployed.

It appears to me and is my opinion that they (Schaeffer and companions) are waiting for one of these "looney-toons" to do the unspeakable and then blame Glenn Beck and/or Rush Limbaugh for the deed no doubt to silence them in the name of national security.

We ought not to be surprised. Politics as usual in spite of the promise for "change".

Let's prove MSNBC, Rachel Maddow and Frank Schaeffer wrong at the ballot box.

BTW here is a link to the poll information.

I just watched the video and ... what a moron!!! You've GOT to be kidding!!

Here are some things he said:

Quite funny - but wrong. What facts? That there is no God? Sorry - that's certainly not a fact..

Who owns Christianity? What do they consider "Christianity"?

I'm too busy to wait on a hilltop. Jesus will get me doing His will - raising my children to love Him, working to earn a living, telling others about Christ and growing His church. I'd love to stand around waiting for Him - but that's not what He told me to do.

He goes on to say that fundamentalist Christians (which is a term that has changed in the last 40 years, as we see on another post) are the "village idiot" - that they distrust facts. He finishes out with this quote:

Those were the things that I caught as I went through the video. Of course I'm watching this video as I indoctrinate my children with the lies of grammar and spelling as I homeschool them. ;)

As I said in the beginning, the man is a moron.

Yes, there is a group of extremists - but it's true on both sides.

Yes, there are those who think Obama is the Antichrist and some who aren't sure. I am on the side of "I don't know". I'm not God so I can't say that he is or isn't, so I'd be in the 1/3 of what he'd consider, I'm sure, the height of the "village idiots". But what's wrong with saying "I don't know"? I DO believe the Bible that there will be an Antichrist. I don't know who that will be and I cannot say that even the man next door to me is not the Antichrist. I just don't have the divine knowledge to say for sure. Does that make me a nutcase? Whatever.

What this man describes is not representative of Christianity, the Bible or the vast majority of those who are Christians in this country. He paints with as wide a brushstroke as I would if I said that every single Democrat is Satan's demons and out to destroy this nation. I don't believe that one bit - nor is he correct to paint believers in Jesus Christ as "village idiots". I will safely say that while this man may have been raised in a Christian home, something failed in his heart and he does not know the God of Scripture. See? I'm not that much of an idiot!

It was a 6 minute video and those are the main points as I listened to him. Yeah - NOT anything truthful, reality or remotely something a believer would agree with.
