AND with that, 100% compliance with the revealed Word of God in the Bible.

There is an interesting book called "Being Pentecostal without speaking in Toungues" by Tony Campolo, well worth the read.

I'd also recommend "Showing the Spirit" by Don Carson (it's an exegesis of I Cor 14-16)

    Besides that,I agree with NP

    Daniel,

Could you please give the Biblical reference for your statement:

Netpub, if those gifts are still operative for today... That list contains apostles and prophets in it. Do you really think those gifts are available today?

Further, no one is "called" to do anything. You can't prove that terminology apart from your own subjective experience. Funny huh?

Joseph, it really isn't semantics. It is about getting back to a proper N.T. theology.

Sheila, consider what Paul said in 1 Tim. 3.

    Daniel,

From your point of view, would you please correct this statement? It sounds like NP is saying basically the same thing as you, but probably using different terminology. Is he or is he not? How is this different from what you are saying?

Why would someone say that their desire to do something = the call of God. Netpub, do you not see how bizarre and dangerous this could be?

Just think of how many slobbering teens think they have the call to preach when they really just have a grudge and want to tell certain people off because they aren't as "holy". They go to Bible college only so they can get behind their bully pulpit.

As far as the "leading" goes, God leads all true believers.

On what objective basis does a person say they are "called" or "led"?

You can't answer. It is the same mindset of charismatics without the tongues.
