Perhaps it's the ski season approaching. Perhaps it's the town I live in. Perhaps it's because I'm saved. I just can't get myself in a bad mood, no matter how hard I try. I don't see last night's elections as the end of the world.

Am I the only happy one ?

If you believe in a Democracy I would assume you accept election returns against your preferences. If not, well....

If not, well you would probably be a Democrat. I don't hear any claims of voter fraud, supression, intimidation, etc... today, do you?

I dont know if you are the only one, but your mood is the mark of a very mature Christian that is living by faith. Whatever happened last night at the polls, it is part of Gods plan.

Actually, I'm a bit tired, but I think that has to do with my work load. :tongue3: I wanna come skiing!!!! No fair!

I voted, I did my part, NOW I rest surely on the fact that God is in control.

AND I got a couple of seasons of 24 for my birthday, so I haven't had the news on for days! ;)

If were the end of the world... all the more reason to be happy.

No. God was in control on Monday and He's in control today. Nothing happened yesterday that He didn't allow and will not ultimately get glory from. If nothing else, perhaps He is teaching us not to trust in the arm of man?

I also gotta say that for the most part, conservatives have taken this news very well. I see very few temper tantrums, we got beat pretty good, not hard to admit. But I am proud of us. We'll see you in two years. Use you new power well, 'cuz we will be watching.

How so? You think God doesn't allow men to do bad things to accomplish His good will?

Check his use of pagan nations to chasten Israel in the OT.

I didn't want this to happen. However the GOP needed a housecleaning and got one. Hopefully, this will return them to their conservative-libertarian principles and will end up being a net positive in two or four years.

The most obvious thing in this election is that liberalism didn't win and conservatism didn't lose. The country is still moderately conservative and can be led down conservative lines.

It will be very easy for Pelosi, Dean, and Reid to miscalculate. Genuine liberals have never been able to admit to themselves that they've been losing elections because Americans don't identify with their ideology. They've found it more pleasant to believe that the GOP has just found better methods.

If not for scandal, neither house would have flipped. Americans didn't choose Dem ideals... they rejected Republican incompetence and corruption. Sadly, some pretty decent folks like Talent and Allen became casualties as well.

The evidence that God is in control is in the Bible. Try reading it sometime. As for contempt, your contempt is for the fact you put some kind of divine attributes in the republican party. Did they let you down, little guy? Too bad. Keep up the battle in your mind between democrats and republicans. You will figure it out some day.

The elections of 2000 and 2004 were both stolen. But then of course was Kennedy's defeat of Nixon in 1960. I suppose that's the way American Democracy works. If you have the power then use it.

If the Bible were evidence, it would be taught in science class.

    Yeah, when?

With no exceptions I put no divine attributes in anyone or anything, natural, supernatural, or otherwise. [snipped]
