I know that my redeemer liveth!

“For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:” - Job 19v25-26

Hallelujah and glory to God! May His praises be known in heaven and on earth. Jesus is risen from the dead and I KNOW that my Redeemer is alive today!

What wonderful faith Job had – even before Jesus Christ was manifested in the flesh Job knew that His Redeemer was a alive and that one day he would see Him with his own eyes. Oh how he longed for that day – “…my reigns be consumed within me…” expresses a heart felt yearning for that glorious when we shall see Him face to face! Job was in serious trouble, he had lost everything, his body was covered with painful boils, he didn’t know what was going on - but this one thing he did know – his Redeemer was alive and one day he would see Him!

O what a wonderful comfort for us. We may not know much else. We may not know why we have the troubles, trials, and tribulations we have. We may not know why we are sick, why we suffer the lose of loved ones, why we have financial difficulties, or why nothing seems to be falling into place.

For those of us who are truly born again trhough faith in Christ's finished work on the cross there is one thing was can know and proclaim with absolute certainty – I KNOW THAT MY REDEEMER IS ALIVE!!!!

I KNOW HE LIVES AS WELL!!

When skeptics attempt to discredit the resurrection and the reality of God and/or the new birth, I tell them...

    TASTE AND SEE!

I KNOW there is a God, I KNOW that Jesus Christ lives, and I KNOW that heaven is my destination when I pass on.

I testified at church last night concerning how wonderful it is that NOT ONLY do we have "sweet heaven when I die", but we have "sweet Jesus in the here and now"!

The abundant life starts NOW...it just continues and gets even better in heaven!

    God bless,

    Mike

Here is the amazing thing - this is OT Gospel - OT salvation that you are claiming!

And we can do this because there is ONLY ONE Gospel! The SAME faith, the SAME Gospel that saved Job - saves us. Belief in the SAME redeemer saves ALL mankind!

ONE Lord ONE faith ONE Baptism for all of time.

Job is grafted into that ONE vine (of Christ) as we see depicted in Romans 11 and SO ALSO the gentiles of today - ALL one in Christ ALL saved by the ONE Gospel.

This is why the NT saints of Acts 17:1-5, 10-12 can practice "Sola Scriptura" doctrinal tests even when hearing someone like Paul!

The saints of Heb 11 are all saved under the ONE Gospel.

The Acts 7:38 "Church in the Wilderness" of the OT is the same church we are a memember of today - is the same church Job was a member of in his day.

The Bride of Christ is "one".

    In Christ,

    Bob

Lets try to not make this a thread for a doctrinal fight please.

Lets leave it a thread to praise the Lord that our Redeemer is alive!

I have no problem fully endorsing the statement and faith of Job without reservation. I do not think that doing so - is "a doctrinal fight".

In my view it shows insight to be able to read a book like Job - see in it the Gospel truth and rejoice with Job in that declaration of faith in our "one" Redeemer.

The Bible itself argues for "One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism" (not an argument that we all need to be one denomination or that we all need to be baptized in the same church). The point is that we can freely read books like Job and freely share the same faith we see described in those books.

There is another "truth" in this verse that must not be overlooked. Job was expressing faith in the resurrection of the righteous. Those that Paul calls "the Dead in Christ" in 1Thess 4. (Job says -- "in my flesh I shall SEE God")

It is a marvellous truth expressed by Job in the end given the primitive nature of his belief system. Yet he came to that wonderful fact that he knew..he knew that his redeemer liveth,,and that he would live also.

We have so much more information revealed by God and yet we do live in a realm of doubt and depair by times.

Yes, praise God that we especially express our beloved Lord's resurrection this Lord's Day. Praise God!

    Cheers, His humbled servant,

    Jim
