Not arguing your point here at all--just wanted clarification. I thought NAFTA ALREADY included Canada. I know that the forms I have to type up for Canadian shipments at work all say NAFTA on them. ??

Now I would be interested if ANYONE has prayed and got a witness from God who they should vote for.
So you think God is involved in the US government, that Obama is his candidate, and to vote otherwise is to vote against God?

You sure did a lot of speculating over my one word reply.

I think my answer is as honest as is your question.

Dagwood, this particular poster's baiting and disingenuous questions always bring to mind this wise quote from George Bernard Shaw:
"I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it."

Does anyone ever suspect that Alcott and Rev Mitchell are one in the same?

Roberts appears to be somewhat mainstream, but I still fear Alito is just another way Bush has indeed damaged the nation. I hope I am proven wrong.

First, our nation was never supposed to be a democracy, regardless of how much politicians like Bush have tried to make us into one. Our founding fathers created a Constitutional Republic, and spoke very much against democracies.

Bush choose not to use his veto powers for the first six years he was in office, by doing so he put his signature to all of the spending bills that were passed. When CAFTA was up for a vote in Congress, Bush, Cheney and Rice all three went to Congress and held closed door meetings with all of the GOP candidates who were going to vote against CAFTA, they held these meetings till almost midnight. They were able to sway enough of these No votes to Yes votes, and then right after CAFTA passed they had a special bill pass that gave millions of dollars worth of funds to the districts whose Congressmen changed their votes for the Bush Administration.

As far as the move to create a North American Union, Bush DID have the three meetings with Mexico and Canada without Congressional approval, and he signed all three agreements without Congressional approval. In fact, there are now members of Congress and many state Legislatures who are working on Legislation at both the State and Federal level to block what Bush has done. This is one example of how "Bush usurps the system to do all of these things". If you would like to see some others, just take a look at all of the Executive Orders that he has signed while in office.

Remember, he was going to nominate Harriet Miers.

Besides, this is only in theory. Alito and Roberts haven't made much difference so far.

Gotten us into a war in Iraq for no good reason other than his Neocon staff members urged him to do so. Did absolutely nothing to heed the warnings about 9/11 and then did nothing in response to the attack. Took us from a surplus budget to a huge deficit. Used his pseudo-Christianity to get elected and then said that Moslems and Christians worship the same god and that Moslems will get to heaven by a different route. Completely failed in helping the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Managed to go from a situation in which most of the world supported America because of the 9/11 disaster to one in which most of the world hated America for invading Iraq.

How did bush tried to make us a democracy...

Think about it, if we were a true democracy, Gore would have won because of the popular vote...
But because we are a constitutional republic, Bush won...

    True on both counts.

I'm confident the two appointees will prove to be good choices.

    Great? No.

His presidency has been a mixed bag.

His legacy, in my mind, will be tied to taking the fight to the enemy. I think history will show that Bush had it right when it came to terrorism. He has protected the United States as best he could. Far better than the pacifists in the democrat party.
