If Sports Reflected Racial Demographics . .

    US Population (all approx figures)

    White (non-hispanic) 210,000,000
    Hispanic 35,000,000
    Black 35,000,000
    Indians 2,500,000
    Asian/Pacific Islander 11,000,000

    This would mean that if we forced racial quota, affirmative action, et al on major sports

    NBA (15 member team) = 11 white, 2 hispanic, 2 black

    NFL (50 member team) = 36 white, 6 hispanic, 6 black, 2 asian

    MLB (30 member team) = 21 white, 4 hispanic, 4 black, 1 asian

    NHL (20 member team) = 14 white, 3 hispanic, 3 black

    It is ludicrous to have Jesse Jackson whine about more blacks in sports and managerial positions. Quotas are just plain wrong.
