    Debby,

Would you have told David to be "realistic" and not fight the Philistine?

Would you have been realistic enough to see the foolishness in marching around the walls and blowing trumpets?

Would you have encouraged Jonah to stay home, instead of going on an unrealistic journey to Nninevah?

We teach these stories to the kids, but I guess we're mature enough to realize that we can't act like that ourselves. [IMG]

    1. Candidate George W. Bush appointed four openly homosexual, gay-rights advocates to his presidential campaign steering committee. According to the homosexual group, Log Cabin Republicans, "scores" of Bush state steering committee members and campaign volunteers were homosexuals.

    2. Perhaps this explains why hundreds of homosexuals gathered in Washington, D.C., last weekend to "celebrate the achievements and leadership of George W. Bush." It also helps to explain why Rich Tafel, executive director of Log Cabin Republicans, said, "We want the country to know that we are behind our president and administration."

    3. On Dec. 21, 2001, President Bush signed a historic bill, which "for the first time allows the District of Columbia government to fund a program that will give domestic partners of city employees access to health benefits." Remember, Bush insisted that openly homosexual Congressman Jim Kolbe of Arizona be given a prominent speaking role at the Republican National Convention. It was Kolbe who introduced the amendment lifting the ban on gay partner benefits in D.C.

    4. Bush named Scot Evertz, a prominent homosexual activist, to head the White House AIDS office even though he had absolutely no experience dealing with public health issues.

    5. Bush appointed another homosexual activist, Donald Cappoccia, to the U.S. Commission on Fine Arts.

    6. Bush appointed openly homosexual, Michael Guest, as Ambassador to Romania. Since then, Bush has decided to leave in place a Clinton policy that calls for supporting the "unmarried partners" of U.S. Foreign Service workers. This allows Guest's live-in lover to live in the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest and allows him to join Guest at official embassy functions.

    7. Bush presided over the appointment of homosexual activist, Stephen Herbits, to oversee the choice of civilian personnel at the Pentagon.

    8. Bush has not reversed a single pro-homosexual policy instituted by former president Bill Clinton. Not even one!

    9. The Bush administration posted a job for what is called a "gay and lesbian program specialist" at the Department of Agriculture.

    10. Bush appointed the ardently pro-homosexual Governor of Massachussetts, Paul Cellucci, as U.S. Ambassador to Canada.

    11. Bush appointed Lewis Eisenberg to become the new GOP chief fundraiser. Eisenberg has a long history of supporting pro-homosexual and pro-abortion candidates.

    12. Just yesterday, The Washington Times reported, "The Bush administration has joined European delegates to an upcoming U.N. summit on children in moving to recognize families 'in various forms,' including unmarried cohabiting couples and homosexual partners."

John Kerry was not only anti-war when he came back, but he cooperated with the enemy, by meeting with the enemy in Paris when he was a private citizen and the “representative” of Vietnam Vets. He basically carried the enemy’s water! He then delivered their propaganda in 1971 before a Senate Committee.

At that speech he recommended that we surrender with no guarantee of ever getting any of our POWs back. Speaking on behalf of the enemy, he assured us that our troops would be given safe passage out of the country. Only defeated armies need safe passage Kerry, and the American military wasn’t close to being defeated!

Along with Jane Fonda, he continued this sort of activity at rallies around the country, riding the resulting publicity into office. Both his comrades in the VVAW and the FBI (which was watching them) concluded that he was a political opportunist using the VVAW to achieve fame. That he would give aid and comfort to the enemy as part of his opportunism is shocking.

His history shows not the honest disagreement guaranteed all of us by the First Amendment, but the intentional use of dishonesty, slanted to be harmful to our nation, without even mentioning the terrible crimes of the enemy. Kerry never mentions that in Tet ’68 that thousands of civilians were taken to the killing fields and shot by the VC, just from the city of Hue alone, during their short occupation and also after congress stabbed the S. Vietnamese in the back, the communist takeover took a few million lives!

His actions not only demoralized Americans, they started a number of myths which persist to this day - myths which damaged our Vietnam Vets, such as my dad, who served proudly: the word monster is used by Kerry in describing them; he falsely asserted that they routinely engaged in atrocities; he painted them as mentally damaged as a result of the horrible things that they supposedly had done.

Kerry aided the enemy and damaged our country - both in our Vietnam War effort, in the general war against Communism (which he said was not winnable in his speech to the Senate), and to this day because of the false slanders he made which much of the world still believes.

He painted our military as approving routinely of atrocities, which he asserted were committed "on a day-to-day basis". What Kerry failed to report is that the VC in S. Vietnam blended in with the civilian population. Unlike the N. Vietnam Army, which wore uniforms, it was extremely impossible to properly identify the enemy in this setting. Unfortunately, as with any war, innocent civilians will become casualties, but it was hardly approved routine as Kerry suggests. Kerry is a disgrace to my dad and to all veterans who bravely fought and died, as well as those who are serving to day, while other draft dodgers and the liberal pukes such as Jane Fonda and Kerry aided the enemy instead of our Country. I despise Kerry and the likes of Fonda!

He claimed he had committed war crimes, which leads one to ask why he hasn't volunteered to be prosecuted. He claimed we "razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan." Which is false, it’s no secrete that the VC would hide in these villages, but the civilians would escape and ask the Americans to bomb the village to rid the VC. The US would then provide money for them to rebuild.

Trying to establish racism, he claimed we used weapons against "oriental human beings" that we would never use against Europeans. This statement Kerry makes is the standard anti-American trick of painting our efforts in the Vietnam War in a racist way. In fact, the weapons used during the war were standard weapons, which would’ve been used in any conflict. Except that in Europe we expected to have use nuclear weapons, which were never recommended in Vietnam. Kerry lies once again and is a disgrace to the American military yester-year and today!

He also claimed, "Blacks were the highest percentage of casualties." Another one of Kerry’s lies, blacks had an almost perfectly representative percentage of casualties.

These few allegations from Kerry’s speech are all false and the North Vietnamese were so pleased with his speech that they played it to our POWs in Hanoi to break their will!!

Thanks Senator Kerry, for your service to our Country!

So what does that say about the Reagan campaign's contact with the Iranians while Carter was involved with the hostage crisis?
    http://www.sumeria.net/politics/oct-sur.html

Because the war was a failure, and Kerry knew it, he was looking for a way to put an end to it. Again, he was risking a great deal for his country.

Really? I'd sure like your evidence he advocated a "surrender." Show me.

It was pretty unpopular to be against the war, when Kerry started. But later, when people realized what a mistake it was, he received the honor he deserved for taking the step of criticising it. BTW, there's no evidence that he and Fonda cooperated on anything. The one photograph showing the two "together" was taken with a telephoto lens to make it appear that they were withing speaking distance of each other.

In fact, he broke with the VVAW, because it began to accept radicals who were inclined to break the law to acheive their goals. The FBI, as you know, was also run by people like that, and likewise found Kerry's presence troubling. As Chuck Colson, assigned by Nixon to "get" Kerry admitted later, there just wasn't anything they could find that put him in a bad light.

Looking out for the interests of the United States is not "aid and comfort to the enemy". That would be something like providing weapons to the Iranians. Guess who did that.

It would be kind of hard for anyone to accurately criticize anyone for something in the future. However, Kerry has said that he didn't think the VC atrocities against civilians justified Americans adopting VC ethics. Do you disagree with that? If so, your position becomes understandable.

I didn't believe that either, back then. And then we found out about My Lai, Pheonix, etc. He was right, and I was wrong.

I believe, if I had been somehow persuaded to throw little kids in a ditch and shoot them, I'd be mentally damaged. How about you?

Kerry fought bravely and was wounded protecting you. He then risked public condemnation for exposing what the war was doing to America. You should be grateful.

You have it backwards. Bush was AWOL. Kerry served honorably. Cheney ducked out. The right wing leadership is full of draft dodgers. Would you like a list?

At the time, Blacks were about 11 percent of Amerians. Black casualties were about 15 percent of the total in Vietnam, although bit more than 12 percent of the soldiers in Vietnam were black. My guess is that Hispanic soldiers were also more likely to be casualties than whites, for the same reason; the poor were disproportionately represented there. Affluent white kids were protected in various ways, because their parents, like George H.W. Bush, didn't want his kid to die in a meaningless war.

You should thank God that there were men willing to fight for our country. Fortunately, there weren't that many George W. Bushes or Tom DeLays.

My guess is that you haven't any problem with guys like that, who ran and hid from the draft. And that tells me pretty much all I need to know. If I'm wrong and you deplore their lack of patriotism, then I'm sorry to have been wrong about you.

Another factor that almost make me wanna regurgitate my breakfast is Kerry’s military records show that he was released from active duty and transferred to the Naval Reserves in 1970 were he remained until 1978. So my pervious statement that Kerry was a “private citizen” while he addressed the Senate in 1971 is false. Kerry was a sworn officer in the US Navy Reserve, which makes it even worse!

So wile a SWORN officer in the US Navy regular reserve, Kerry met in Paris w/ the enemy. Accused our country of a policy of atrocities. Testified that our soldiers routinely committed atrocities. Recommended to the Senate that we immediately surrender on the enemy terms, w/out any guarantees of getting our POWs back. Kerry recommended that we pay reparations to Vietnam.

Therefore, Kerry’s actions are clearly those unbecoming an officer and he’s the most disreputable person ever to run for the president of the United States.

The War wasn’t a failure! Our boys were winning the war on the ground, which was indeed favorable to the South. The war was essentially won in the South by 1970 and by 1972 the South was demonstrating that she could defend itself. Nixon was trying to get Americans out of Vietnam, while at the same time providing the South the ability to defend itself from the North with air support, by means of the Rolling Thunder campaign, which was working until the democrats voted to outlaw Nixon’s strategy, which lead to the US stabbing S. Vietnam in the back by our withdrawal.

With great pleasure. Here’s the Link to Kerry’s testimony for your viewing pleasure. It’s quite long though…
    Lifted from Kerry’s testimony.

I say again only defeated armies need safe conduct .

In other words, stop fighting and leave. Surrender unconditionally. Which we did and millions of S. Vietnamese paid a heavy price for our abandonment of our promise to the South.

Mei Lei was an isolated incident. Kerry raised it to the status of normal action in war. It painted Americans as racists and killers and Kerry would make us believe that it is the norm. Furthermore, it ignores the fact that these kinds of events happen in ALL armies in ALL significant wars, but OUR Army, unlike that of the enemy, tries to avoid them and prosecute those that are responsible!

Kerry has painted all Vietnam Veterans in this light, which is simply not true. Granted my dad had issues, not with the war, he never did or witnessed these atrocities Kerry describes the whole time he was in combat. And in suggesting this, He takes the honor away from my dads’ service to his country and the loss of his best friend in combat to the VC in vain.

Another point, Kerry had his first Purple Heart within 24 hours of taking command of his swiftboat on December 1, 1968, and accumulated 3 such decorations for “wounds”, but NEVER spent ONE day in the hospital in his BRIEF 5 months in a combat zone. Why won’t Kerry permit his medical records or his recommendations/citations for valor, to be disclosed?

Veitnam Veterns should demand Kerry to release records. He should issue a statement of appolgy for his personal war crimes. Kerry should limit his broad brush painting Vietnam Vets such as my dad as “criminals” based on bogus confessions from fabricators and liars in the Kerry – Fonda anti war cabal.

IMO, Bush waited to release his service records b/c he wanted the whole country to see the Democratic spokesmen as a bunch of lying fanatics and the press pool as a bunch of ignoramuses.
Bush has provided all of his records, which have shut the left up. Kerry hasn’t.

You better believe I have a problem with those who dodged the draft. I’m sure there are plenty in Government from both camps that hid behind mamma and daddy’s influence. Both George W. Bush and Kerry volunteered. The problem I have is Kerry’s attitude and his picture of all Vets he made them to be, his meetings in Paris with the enemy all while still an Officer in the US Navy!

Can't you see. Kerry with his pro baby killing and pro sodomite beliefs and his elitism is a terrible choice. Can't you see that Bush with his imperalism, pro sodomite and elitism is also a poor choice. When are we going to wake up and smell the coffee. There is another another choice. The Constitution party.
    STOP TWEEDLEDEE AND TWEEDLEDUM, NOW!!!

I sleep good at night knowing that I don't have to compromise what I believe in and settle for the "lesser of two evils" when I vote in November. I know that I can vote for something and someone I believe in, and trust God to watch over and protect us regardless of who wins the election.

    Well, let's see... Chickenhawk roster:
    George Bush:
Used Daddy's influence to get a safe guard position, put it in writing that he never wanted to go to Vietnam, and then went AWOL, just to be safe.

    Dick Cheney:
    "Had other priorities."

    Dennis Hastert:
Depends on when you ask. Bad shoulder or knees. Honest. Later he got better, and went on to wrestle in college. It's a miracle!

    Tom DeLay:
Said he wanted to enlist, but that so many blacks and other minorities wanted to enlist, they weren't taking white boys.

I'm not making this up. From DeLay's hometown newspaper:
    http://www.houstonpress.com/issues/1999-01-07/columns2.html/1/index.html

There's a lot more. Would you like to see more?

The difference is that Kerry volunteered for Vietnam, served bravely and honorably, being cited for his courage and leadership. Bush did whatever he could do to avoid going to Vietnam, and then when the AF started drug testing pilots, went AWOL and got kicked off flying status.

Not being a neocon, what he did was far more important than any inferred "attitude." He served bravely and well, and when he realized the war was hurting the US, worked to end it, at considerable personal risk. (we now know that Nixon specifically took an interest in "getting" him)

He said "all"? You have evidence for that? I think you made it up.

It was just one of the largest and worst. There was an entire program dedicated to killing civilians who "might" have been sympathetic to the VC. And we still don't have all the information the Army holds:
    http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20040512/SRTIGERFORCE/405120331

The one thing we learned from Vietnam, is that sort of war breeds atrocities. Americans aren't superhuman; put us in that environment, and we do what other peoples would do.

That happened. Too often. But war breeds killers. That's what you do in a war. In a guerrilla war, anyone could be your enemy. Hard to remember not to kill civilians in that sort of an environment. "Gook" was the word a lot of US troops used for Vietnamese back then. Racist? Yep.

He said that? Where? He said it was happening daily, but it was a big war. You're exaggerating badly here.

Read the link. The Army is still covering up. Calley, the officer directly responsible for the killing of children at My Lai? Pardoned.

    So much for accountability.

When someone criticizes Bush because he went AWOL and was too cowardly to serve in Viet Nam, the response is often to point out that this happened a long time ago. Now, you Bushites have no problem going back over 30 years to find something to criticize Kerry about.

I don't doubt that Kerry, as a twenty-something years old young man, made statements that were unwise to say. However, please remember which of these presidential candidates was a hero, and which was a coward. I would imagine that while Kerry was putting his life on the line for his country, Bush was off somewhere either drunk or on a cocaine high.

If he was, everyone from the Pentagon on down would have been prosecuted. It was DOD policy to do it that way. They later reconsidered, agreed with Kerry, and changed policy.

It's not the first time. The firebombing of Dresden was a similar atrocity, with no military objective other than terrorizing the civilian population.

We haven't always done the right thing. Kerry was pointing this out.

Oh, and you forgot the link showing that Kerry advocated "surrender." I still think you made that up.

So we need the link. When I heard him testifying, he said we should withdraw, not surrender. My guess is you "adjusted" the truth a little to make it fit your argument. Am I right?

    Picture this.

A meeting where the assassination of US senators is planned. One of the people present is against the idea but leaves the meeting and never reports anything about it.

Is this person worthy of being elected president?
