What would be the FIRST TWO things you would do if you could?

    Fire Congress...
Then write an executive order to give the president a 300% pay raise...

Abolish the E.P.A. and ban homosexuals from the military - no more "Don't Ask Don't Tell."

If I were president there's only one thing I would do.

I would faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and would, to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

    So help me God.

    I'm quite sure I wouldn't be a popular president.

OK, but what would you specifically do

    For myself,
    1. I would want Congress to pass the line item veto
    2. I would want Congress to pass term limits
    ---A. 3 terms for House
    ---B. 2 terms for Senate
    3. End "automatic" pay raise for Congress
    4. English as the official language
    5. Constitutional amendments:
    ---A. Protect pre-born
    ---B. Marriage - 1 man 1 woman
    6. Immigration
    ---A. Strictly enforced
---B. No government benefits for illegals
    7. No retirement for elected officials

    This is for starters.

    First things first Salty.

    1. Get rid of the Federal Reserve.

    2. Get rid of the IRS.

    3. Enforce the Logan Act.

That should take care of 80 or 90% of the problems we face as a nation today. Then you, blackbird and I can sit down and hash out all the other stuff.

Same way it was done from 1776 to 1913.

Corporate taxes, taxes on alcohol, tobacco, firearms, tariffs on trade, and military hardware sales and such should be enough to fund a constitutionally limited goverment, Salty.

As it stands now your income tax does little more than pay towards the interest on the debt our "leaders" incurred by borrowing money from the Fed who in turn makes it (fiat currency) appear out of thin air.

First guiding principle would be to run the country by the Constitution.

First thing I would do is get rid of lobbyists and pork spending.

Second thing I would do is get control of the borders.

Third thing is to implement all of poncho's ideas.

Lobbyists - I would say they have a right to do their job -
How would you constitutionally get rid of them?

(I agree 101% with ending pork spending)
