I'm writing one because I don't have one for my web duties. They have just kind of evolved. I don't even have a title. I've called myself any and everything from Web Contact to Web Administrator. At times I've been hesitant to do some things because I don't know what I should be doing. (ok, I might have hesitated, but that didn't generally stop me!) So, I've started a job description based on the things I am doing or think I should be doing. Additions? Tweaking? Job Description Web (Master, Administrator, Designer, Developer, thingamabob???) Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain plan for Calvary Baptist Day School’s internet presence. Develop, organize and maintain web sites. Review, evaluate and recommend new technologies. Formulate strategies and plans for future enhancement of web sites. Maintain a consistent visual image on web sites. Develop graphic content, and write and edit textual content. Determine coding requirements to meet site needs. Develop policies for in-house web usage. Maintain contact with teachers and staff to inform, instruct and support them in web content development efforts. Create templates for teacher and staff use. Train staff on template usage and uploading pages. Track usage. Provide technical expertise in design, development and implementation of web technology. Work with IT staff to ensure that web is being used to fullest capacity.
