What they should do is offer incentives to encourage people to allow refineries into their neighborhoods. Like a major discount on the price of gasoline for residents of counties where the refinery exists. Maybe tax breaks or something. When I lived in Pa. there was a town where all the residents got free cable TV because of all the revenue that a big garbage dump brought in. They took garbage from New York and Philadelphia.

I don't believe I have complained about the price, but if I was to, I would be justified in that it's Christ denying enviromentalist wackos keeping us from our recourses. I don't mind, I can afford gas. I can afford a lot of gas. In fact, last week, just for ha-has, I drove from Dallas to San Antonio & back. I like driving, and it's especially fun in a big truck, where you feel safe.

But it's the poor who get hurt, you know, the poor, who the liberals say they care for, but that has to be a lie, because they keep gas prices high, and want people to die in unsafe cars.

What an excellent idea--probably you're not the first person to propose this idea, but it's the first I've seen of it. Workable, real plans to deal with current problems--that's exactly what we need.

Would YOU consider a run for prez???? Your avatar certainly makes you LOOK qualified!!

There's plenty of places to build refineries that affect few, if any people. Several times, members of congress--some of who have serious priority issues--have blocked the building of refineries.

I'm probably not a good peroon to use as an example regarding "people getting rid of their SUV's." My little crackerbox of a car gets 36 mpg.

And it must be said....the hypocrisy of some eco-terrorists is apalling. Al Gore flies all over the world to tell us to use less fuel. His mansion uses more in a week than my house uses in a year. He, and others like him, should shut up. They have no credibility.

Yeah, they expect the poor to all go out and buy $40,000 Toyota Prius's.
I would live right smack dab in the middle of an oil refinery if I could get $2.00 a gal gas. I drive 2 hours a day back and forth to work. In my Lincoln Town car. I like the comfort. It is like driving around in a water bed. Put it in cruise-control. Listen to a little Trace Adkins. 75 degrees inside. 95 outside. All highway driving. But it is costing me $400 a month just to drive back and forth to work. My wife and I take very few pleasure trips anymore.
