    In my younger days, a mainstream baptist referred to the more liberal groups of baptists such as the Canadian Baptists and the American Baptists, or the British Baptist Union...the associations.

    Haven't a clue what it would mean to-day.

    From my days in North Carolina, I was led to believe that "mainstream Baptist" refers to anyone who does not support the changes that have occured in the SBC since 1979, and/or anyone who wholeheartedly supports the CBF.
