Have you worn the uniform of the United States Military?

Didn't have room for "other" but if it applies, please comment

Keep in mind, it is a multiple choice poll - so please check all that apply

Note: this was supposed to be a public poll....

I joined the Air Force in 1965 (I had a cousin who was a recruiter) and got out with three stripes, which at that time was Sergeant. Fortunately, I didn't go to war. I thought about making it a career and wish I had.

No combat duty but lived through 3 years in Germany with the Baader-Mienhof faction bombing cars in our housing area back in the early 80s. Probably half a dozen bombings. One was a block from our home in Butzbach. My middle son says he was safer as an adult GI during Iraqi Freedom than as a 2 year old dependant in Germany.

My Grandfather served in WWII, step-father-in-law served in Vietnam, oldest brother was USMC, second oldest brother is currently serving in the Army, youngest brother is looking into enlisting. My husband served 4 years in the USMC, but I was not married to him at the time (I was 9-13 years old when he served) his two brothers have both served (Army), and several of our friends have served or are currently serving.

I personally have never served, I'm just one of the reasons that they all have.
