Vast difference between working with other truly born-again, evangelical groups and working with the apostate churches that have a form of godliness while denying the power of it.

I can work (and will speak in the morning) at an Evangelical Free Church VBS. They have the exact same doctrinal statement as my last Baptist mission church - and they should, since they split off of it 30 years ago!!

But the next week, the Missouri Synod Lutherans have asked me to speak. I will not. Though they speak of salvation by grace, they teach the MEANS of that grace is baptism, communion and faith. That is false doctrine.

    Gina,

Good observation. I could only wish the "1-2-3 title belt" was only held in your area. Unfortunately I see the same thing happening overseas by mostly Baptist missionaries. :(

Dr. Bob made a comment about the difference between the MEANS of receiving God's grace. Can't help but see that the "1-2-3 repeat after me prayer" is no closer to the biblical "means" of receiving God's grace than baptism, communion, etc. Some of us Baptist have a pretty large mote in our own eye.

    </font>[/QUOTE]Dr. Bob,
Thank you for your input [IMG] . I agree with you to a certain extent, but you stated:

If they asked you to speak, knowing your doctrinal beliefs, couldn't you have shared your thoughts about salvation? Using the opportunity to use the scriptures in the correct context? I know you would have to feel the Lords leading to do so, but I was just curious [IMG] .
    God Bless

It is tough enough to find Baptists that are on the same sheet of music let alone dancing with the other denominations. I will preach anywhere but I will not take a check.

Just because they call themselves Christian does not mean they are serving the same Jesus. There are many churches out there teaching a Jesus that saves through baptism, or a Jesus that saves only if you live a good enough life. Is that really the same Jesus you believe in?

Paul felt very strongly about those who preach a different gospel.

It isn't only the JWs or the Mormons that do this. Anyone that adds to what is necessary for salvation is misleading people into a false doctrine and are preaching another gospel.

or Jesus at all for that matter. This goes for every church.

I take every opportunity to preach in any church that I can. I don't look at the sign on the door. I preach what God lays on my heart and usually have a great response. If I offend than I offend, but I follow the scripture that says "Go into ALL the world". . not just those who are not associated with a church already. I would even preach in a Muslim service if God opened the door... they might kill me before I walked out the door, but ya know. . God's word will not return into him void.

That is indeed what we are called to! You preach on!!!!

I do think going in to preach the true gospel is different then becoming associated with them in a way that supports thier beliefs.

Guess what! There will be NO DENOMINATIONS in Heaven, Folks!

This discussion is truly pitiful. :(

Not everyone who says, Lord, Lord is of the Kingdom. Not every Baptist is either. And not every Lutheran, Pentecostal, Methodist, Presbyterian, or (gasp!) Catholic is going to hell!
