This may be a potentially dumb question, but does it still count when you lead a soul to Christ via the internet? Also has anyone here gone to a mostly pagan/non-believer chat room and done witnessing?

I don't have a problem with cybersaving. [IMG]

But what do you mean by "does it count"? Technically, we don't save. The Jesus saves. We just allow ourselves to be tools in the endeavor. So, yes, it counts, but we don't need to count.

Thanks for the words there. I wasn't looking to say "does it count", I just could not think of how to express it. Yep we are the tools, I just had wondered if you (figurative)decided to go into that type of chat room would God still see your helping the same as if you had witnessed in person. Hmm...kinda inspires me to go to some of these chatrooms and try to witness. I am shy about witnessing in person. I hate to be such a wimp. Once I find a church home I would like to participate in visitation nights.

    Thanks again,

I led a doctor to the Lord several years ago via the internet, and then one of her friends became involved in somewhat of a Bible study. She later came to know the Lord also, via the internet. I believe it is a very valid way to win souls. [IMG]

It isn't the easiest thing in the world to do. I've done it but the only way I'll no if they got saved is when I get to heaven.

Comrade, how true that is! AVL I am glad to know that you were able to share with that doctor. There's no telling how many people she could reach. Besides that with the things she must see everyday she had to have had some questions. At least that's what I'd think. Does it seem to y'all that people are more rude on the net or in person? Thanks again,

We do not know how many people read our words and the influence that our words have on them.

It is important to always be a witness for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, wherever we are, whatever we do, and whatever we say or write.

There are many good books out that will teach you how to do personal evangelism. One such book is "Successful Soul-Winning" by Stephan Olford. It can be ordered from your local Christian bookstore or through Moody Bible Institute over the internet."How to Give Away Your Faith " by Paul E. Little is another good book on witnessing. An additional book especially good for Scripture memory (as a primer)is "How to witness to Anyone" a guide to effective evangelism by R.A. Torrey.
These will help you in your witnessing efforts in face to face situations as well as over the internet.
God bless you in your efforts.

I think it's great to use any tool we can to spread the gospel--why not? Satan uses it to promote pornography and other vile stuff.

Keep up the good work sister!

Dear Johnny, You said, "we don't do the saving" How true! but, We are commanded to witness for Him! not for that reason only, but also, To lay a crown @JESUS FEET! On the topic of so-called 'CYBER SAVING' B/C I'M DISABLED & NOT ABLE TO GO DOOR TO DOOR WHITNESSING. CAN'T ALWAYS GET A RIDE TO GO OUT W/MY CHURCH SoulWinning in Fort Worth, TX.

Continuing RE: "CYBER SAVING" MAN, I HOPE & PRAY GOD WILL RECEIVE MY ATTEMPTS .
For example she asked in the original post about whitnessing on non-Christian Boards/Chatrooms. See my following post to the City of Fort Woth's Web Site:
Obviously a mis-quote, in an effort to make the members @ Kingdom Baptist look bad and discount God’s Word. Truly, an unholy Christian will not inherit The Kingdom reign of Jesus Christ on Earth, instead will be banished to the Under-World (Hell) during the Millennial reign of our God & Savior along W/Christians accounted worthy.
That being said, I am certain that nobody at Kingdom Baptist W/cause, said ‘you are going to Hell’ for no reason. The Lord will Judge on that day, but we are called to warn Christians & non-Christians out of Love for their souls and b/c we’re commanded to.
If you were warned by my brethen it’s b/c they saw your fruits and warned you b/c “By their fruits you shall know them.”

Secondly you said, “I reply "just a thousand years, huh, that doesnt seem so bad in the grand scheme of things!"

Hell doesn’t seem so bad? Burning for 1,000 years where the “worm dieth not”? If you think that’s not bad, you are deceived! There is no way to compare the horrors of hell W/anything in this life!
If that^ isn’t enough, Christians are commanded “To Seek The Kingdom First”!
‘Seeking The Kingdom’ which includes escaping Hell is not just suggested rather, it is a command. Herein we love God by keeping His Commandments.

Also, said was "just a thousand years, huh, that doesnt seem so bad in the grand scheme of things!" I hope I’ve shown the folly in that statement above. Even so, if you are a Christian the millennium of torment will end for an Unholy Christian on the “Last Day” but, what about the non-Christians we speak to in Fort Worth?
The torment of Hell fire will continue in The Lake of Fire, which is ETERNAL SEPERATION FROM GOD?
    I’m sorry you don’t care about them…

Thirdly, uou said, “Do these clowns bother anyone else on here. In my opinion you should not make people commit to Christ by making them afraid of hell. But hey, thats just me!
Here we see a little honesty Yes. That ‘is your opinion’ but sadly other’s also, it’s the spirit of the age “is the last days”. “They will not endure Sound Doctrine…”
WE NEED TO “FEAR GOD”! Not win friends & influence people… “THE FEAR OF GOD IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM”.

I’ll stop addressing your opinions here.

In Christ Jesus, PLEASE RECEIVE THIS IN THE SPIRIT INTENDED.

Internet evangelism is a area with great potential to win souls for the LORD. I completed a course in internet evangelism and was truly enlightened. You must go with the leading of GOD and put all FAITH in HIM.

I didn't know there were courses for internet evangelism. I spread the gospel and talk all the time how Awesome God is on the net, when I can, in different bulletin boards mostly. It can definitely be difficult sometimes!

Lori, people are much ruder on the net! I have never been an outgoing person but I am getting better at that since using the internet in this way. Sometimes people will do their best to egg you on and get you angry, but you can't let it get to you. Don't take it personally! I don't hit people over the head with the bible, so to speak. If someone is just trying to rile me and not listening to anything, then I move on. If someone is asking questions, then I try to show them in a gentle and humble manner God's grace and mercy for us. People will bring up all the 'so called' contraditions in the bible, the 'intolerance' of Christian's and so forth but it will just make you study more.

It can be pretty cool if you don't let some upset you. [IMG] [IMG]

I also think people are ruder on the web. I've even seen some rude exchanges on BaptistBoard. I've been a member of a secular forum for over two months, and I didn't start sharing that I believe the Bible until someone else started a thread in which I could provide a Biblical perspective. I always make sure that I don't come across as condescending to other people's beliefs. I can't argue someone into agreeing with me, I can only share what I believe the Bible teaches. Just last week one of the members of that forum started joking around in a vulgar manner after I shared a Bible verse. I didn't call down the judgment of God on him. I just explained that he was completely off topic and I felt his jokes were demeaning. He later apologized to me. The way I present myself makes a big difference in how willing people are to consider my viewpoint. I'm not sure if I would ever be able to lead someone to the Lord over the internet, but I can definitely plant seeds.

of course it is a good thing to do Lori.. [IMG]

The internet is a wonderful tool that allows us
to reach out to folks that are not in our own
    neighborhoods...
My only request for those who reach out via the
Web is that it be done in a respectful manner...
    with much prayer..

I don't tend to do chat rooms these days.. I stick
    with messege boards.. secular/christian/pagan.. [IMG]

Lori, I respectfully disagree with the last part of this entry. I keep a count of every person/soul the Holy Spirit has used me to lead to Christ.
For one I want to be able to say, "I did this for You," when I meet the savior.
Another reason I keep a count is when Satan starts beatin' me up, I pull out my Bible in which I keep a list of the above mentioned names and start reading the names to him. He shuts up, quickly. [IMG]
Keep on with the cyber soul search!!!
