I'm bumping this to the top as there are some new and old members who have not posted here.

Let's get to know each other better.

Hi, my name is Jan. I found this board in an attempt to accomplish a project that I am working on. But am falling in love with the folks here, and plan to stay [IMG]
I am 43 years old. Met my husband while he was on exchange to my college in Ohio, from his college in New Mexico. He came to help with our Baptist Student Union. He is actually originally from MI., but ended up in New Mexico after getting out of the military. Anyways, as God would have it, we fell (do you really fall in love?) in love and got married. I knew that he had surrendered to a call to the ministry. I just did not know what a ride that would be [IMG]
I grew up in a non Christian home, and accepted Christ at the age of 13. But did most of my growing in the Lord once I was married.
We have two childre. Jon is 20 years old and a wonderful young man. He is on the austism scale, but doing well in life. When he was five years old, I was told that I had two choices-send him away to a school for the mentally retarded or send him away to a school for the emotionally disturbed. We choose to do neither [IMG] And he is now on the deans list at college [IMG] My daughter is 19. She is away at college (Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA) going into youth ministry. We miss her terribly.
My life has been devoted to raising my kids and following my hubbie across the country (well, it is devoted to the Lord-but that came under that description) After we were married, my husband pastored two small churches in Ohio. But then he realized that he was really not equipped to meet the needs in the church body. So, we went off to Bible College. Then he pastored a mission in the coal mine country of Kentucky. We loved it. But ended up going on to seminary. Since then, he has pastored several churches and even spent a year working at a Baptist children's home in TN. We loved that too. But my dad had a stroke, and we moved back to Ohio to care for him. Which we did until his death. My husband ended up being out of pastoring for five long years. He missed it so bad. Now he works a secular job (60 hr weeks) and pastors a small church. It works for now. We love our church. But hope that one day it will no longer be a "small" church.
I operate a home daycare, with three little ones. Love every moment of that. And I teach Sunday School and a children's Bible club on Wednesday nights. My mom lives next door to us, we do our best to keep our eye on her. Well, that is pretty well me.

Howdy, y'all! I reckon I'm an old new 'old member', having been away fer a year...got that figured out? [IMG]

My given name is Patricia, sometimes known as "pesty Pat" or "Pat the brat", but nowadays, most folks just call me "granny".

I've been saved 50 glorious years & have never regretted it, not even once! [IMG] My 3wk.'courtship' has turned into 40yrs of wedded-bliss. We've raised 6 young'uns, who have given us many g'chilluns.

My favorite color is orange & I love the great outdoors(esp.woods). I like to hear the wind whisper in the pines & all the usual nightsounds. I like rainy days & the smell of sweet southern flowers.. I take my coffee black & my icetea really sweet.

I read cookbooks, like most folks read novels & I always read from back to front in everything. I prefer casseroles to desserts, but I like pie over cake. I bake 13 loaves of bread at a whack.

Well, as you can tell, I'm also known as the "mouth-of-the-south" & I do love this beloved BB. C-y'all 'round de Board! [IMG]

    Hello,
I'm in my forties. Married almost 27 years.
Two kids on earth, one in Heaven.
Two attend private Christian school. And a really great one. The oldest is in the process (that is I am in the process [IMG] ) of college application forms. Both kids are Christians.

Oldest just became an Eagle Scout. Yes, I'm proud of my kids. Youngest is a Scout and lives and breathes roller coasters. (Amazing how many message boards just devoted to roller coasters. [IMG] )

My husband is an engineer who travels to various refineries doing decontamination jobs.
As a result, we have all gotten to go with him to some wonderful places, including the UK for extended times.

I collect postcards, Santa Claus figurines, and like to read a lot (P.G. Wodehouse is a particular favorite - he's hilarious). I also work on our family's genealogy.
I do some substitute school teaching because, as a job, it fits in well with our schedule.
I got a degree in Economics and then went back to school for a paralegal degree. I ran the family business for a number of years. But we don't have it any longer. [IMG]

I became a Christian at the age of 11. We are Southern Baptists, and my husband and I both come from a long line of Christians.

    Hi
I'm Carolyn, I live in the Pacific Northwest - home of Starbucks, Nintendo and Microsoft. Other residents are hubby of 25+ years, two cats and a friend is staying with us for a while.

    I have 2 daughters, one step-son and 9 grandchildren.

I manage my own Christian Ladies fellowship group along with a couple of others where I am the technical (and encouragement) support. That keeps me pretty busy.

Hubby is not saved but knows the scriptures enough that we can talk about anything.

The Baptist Board is the very first group I got bold enough to join and it's where my roots are. So, even though I don't have a lot of time to come and hang out with all the wonderful people here, I do check in when I can.

My desire is that I can make just one person's day a bit brighter by the example of the Lord in my life.

hello from the other side of the world!!! [IMG] Born and raised here, one degree north of the equator.

My name is Suwei (pronounced "sue-way") which in chinese is simple flower. almost 29 yrs and married for around 5 years. Now with three little ones, 4, 2 and 3 mths.
Like molly, was teaching in "public school" (secondary school) before the first child came.

Husband's a deacon and we love the church. Serving as a member of our church orchestra playing cello (the bass part.)

I love Singapore, small as we are, I'm (mostly)proud of the way we do things.
My biggest travel wish is to visit America, but for now, thanks to the internet, i can talk to the people who live there. [IMG] That's special too. [IMG]
And what is really special is the common love for the Saviour and His precious Word despite being seperated by so much space and race and culture.

Revelation 5:9-10 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Hi, I'm Kim, 35, divorced with no children. I'm originally from Montgomery, Alabama but currently living in Pittsburgh, PA. I work full time and I'm going to school at night to get my Master's. I was recently baptized on June 2003 and am (finally) beginning to understand what true Christianity means. I am very happy that I found the church that I did and that I found this board.

I'm Dina. My Dh is Jay. We have two kids, Dathon, who is 11 and Aubrey, who is 7.
I have been a Christian since I was 4. When I was a teen I rebelled and got away from my Christian walk. Shortly after Jay and I married, we both got back on track, reading our Bibles, going to church, and praying.
My hobbies are reading, cross stitching, sewing, and I am currently in the process of interrior decorating. My children attend public school. Dathon is in 5th grade Special Ed due to having Aspergers. Aubrey is in 1st grade.
I am currently working from home, as a webmaster for 3 sites, but am hoping to return to school in the near future.

Hi my name is Martha. I am 38 3/4 been married for one year and 2 months. I have a wonderful husband. He came into my life unexpectedly but through lots of prayer from both of us we know this was right for us. I had worked for 15 years in a Methodist Protestant Church, break from Methodist over 100 years ago. Holding many jobs and also cleaned the church. Things happened I don't know if it was burn out or what then I started attending a Baptist Church, I was raised Bapt. so I thought I needed to get back to my roots. My husband and I attend a small Independent Baptist Church. He is an ordained ministry but no doors has came open, we are waiting on God. He does preach some at this church. I've enjoyed reading the post on this site. It really has helped out a lot. My husband has some health problems and I also have several but I think that is what helps us most knowing we need each other when we are down with our health. Ladies have a good day and God Bless us all and keep us safe today.

I am closing this thread as people are introducing themselves here instead of the WELCOME FORUM that Webmaster created for that purpose.

You might want to start one something like this in the BPWF. But if it starts to take the place of the Welcome Forum, it will have to be closed too.

All newcomers, please go to the "Official Site" to introduce yourself.
