invitation from Pope to Anglicans

    Not quite. The invitation is to a breakaway group, the Continuing Anglicans. It will however be interesting to see how this pans out with not just them but mainstream Anglican groups like Forward in Faith (Anglo-Catholics opposed to women bishops and gay clergy); some of them may swim the Tiber at individual or even parochial level. The main problem I can foresee with any such 'converts' is that they are converting for purely negative reasons ie: it's not that they necessarily believe Catholic dogmas such as transubstantiation or the Assumption but just that they don't like what the Church they're in is doing; these sort of negative denominational hops rarely end well for either the 'hoppers' or their recipients...
