Oddly enough, Daisy didn't notice that she took offense at the suggestion. Since she didn't notice that she did, chances are really good that she actually didn't and ScottJ is making another of his ridiculously unwarranted assumptions.

Stastical variation based on something as broad and ill-defined as race is meaningless as applied to individuals. Given any random black person and any random white person, ScottJ seems to be telling me that the black person is the superior athlete?

That isn't what I said at all. ScottJ is putting words in my mouth which I didn't say and didn't mean, and that is basically the same as lying.

You, ScottJ, dreamed up those implications which just goes to show how you think. That you ascribed it to me is called 'transference' - too bad you can't tell the difference between what I said and what you think. A more decent person would have asked if that was what I was implying instead of launching into a contemptible tirade base on a false reading. A decent person would have challenged me directly instead of rudely, cowardly refering to me in the third person.

Are you saying that star athletes are not lavishly rewarded? Are you maintaining that they are not more lavishly rewarded than talented mathematicians, physicists and poets? This is not a rhetorical question.

 

Actually, you should try rereading....I did not say that was the possible reasons that blacks were more inclined to athletics. I didn't say that they were - that is your own inference because that is how you think.

But you never questioned that you did misconstrue anything, did you?

Off topic, but since you opened up this particular can of worms, I will point out that the majority of Native Americans died because they had no immunity to the diseases of Europe. It's been estimated that 75 - 90% of Indian deaths were caused by cholera, typhoid, influenza, and especially smallpox. Same with the 'Trail of Tears', almost all the deaths were a result of disease.
