    Senator Obama the Messiah? No.

Is that website serious or is it a spoof?

I can't tell, but I can tell that some of the photos have been "improved" . If it is real then there are some people who have serious issues.

He is a god to the godless, a messiah to those who think humanity can repair it'self.

Wouldn't be surprised if he ended up being the anti-messiah.

He certainly will become something significant. Whether antichrist or no, I have no idea, but whether or not an influencer of the world, certainly.

I hope he is our 44th president, but no, he isn't the Messiah.

Unbelievable! The assumptions that are being tossed around, here.

    Senator Obama
doesn't even have the Democrat Party nomination for President near being assured yet, and as of today, needing almost 600 more assured delegates including the "superdelegates", and currently ahead of Senator Clinton by ~ 160 pledged delegates. Factor in the expected super-delegate votes (as of now) and the difference is about 125 delegates, although Sen. Obama now needs only about than 400 delegates to win, but Sen. Clinton now only needs 525. There are still some 565+ delegates to be awarded by primaries and caucii, with those states also being the home to another ~125 super-delegates, and you have almost 700 yet in play, more than 1 out of every 7, or roughly 17% of the total delegates. A close tally is sure to bring calls about the delegates from MI and FL, as well, which may well lead to a fight over these states, in which case, you could be talking about 1 out of 6 delegates still in play, as of today.

Certainly the odds would favor Sen. Obama, it would seem, but it is not guaranteed, at all, simply because -
It is still almost 5 months until the Democratic Convention, and there is no guarantee against what might happen or arise in 5 mos., which is a lifetime in politics. If you don't believe me, just check out the Republican Party and two individuals, one who had been falling like a rock (Senator McCain), and the other who had never much more than got started in the first place (Governor Huckabee), were suddenly front and center, and the one who was easily front-runner from five mos. previously (Mayor Guiliani), had all but dropped off the radar screen, and in fact did drop out, within a month, as did some of the other 'high-priced' talent including Senator Thompson and Governor Romney.

And when one is speaking of "free-fall", all one has to do is look at recent disclosures and events in New York, where a powerful and popular Governor, was completely gone from office in less than a week. (Does he still keep his 'Super-delegate' status? Yep! I believe so. Want his endorsement, anyone? NO?? Why not??) You can't 'free-fall' politically much faster than he did, I'd say.

I certainly do not expect anything remotely resembling that to happen as regards either Sen. Clinton or Sen. Obama, but other things do happen, including accidents (remember Sen. Wellstone, and Gov. Carnahan), health issues (remember May. Guiliani when he was planning to run for the Senate in NY, ironically against the then Mrs. Clinton, and found he had prostrate cancer, and dropped out for surgery and threatment, in 2000), which could change this race overnight. For you sports fans, look at the late Marvin Stone, a professional basketball player from UK and UL, who died suddenly Monday at the age of 26, of an apparent previously unknown heart condition, of an apparent heart attack, during half-time of a pro game in Saudi Arabia. Or look at what happened recently in Pakistan with Mrs. Bhutto, and/or what happened with Governor George Wallace and President John and Senator Robert Kennedy, in the 60s and 70s. I do not expect any of this, and certainly would not want to be suggesting any such thing will occur, but merely brought it up to announce that totally unforseen things do, in fact, happen.

Further, the current polls strongly suggest that if the general election were held tomorrow, Sen. McCain would defeat either Sen. Obama or Sen. Clinton. Let's face it. The speculation about what may or will happen, come Nov. 4, 2008, and 7 months (That is two lifetimes!) away is nothing more than a blind guess, despite all the worries and/or wistful thinking on all sides! And last I checked, God was still in control, and was not going to be the least bit surprised.

Yet some are already proclaiming Sen. Obama, to be (1.) a Messiah, on one hand; (2.) the Anti-Christ, on the other; and (3.) virtually everything in between, from the greatest tragedy that could possibly befall the United States, to the greatest thing since sliced bread. (FTR, I am not a political fan of Sen. Obama, by any stretch, but he could not possibly be the Anti-Christ, under any circumstances, whatsoever. The Anti-Christ is neither Illinoian, nor Hawaiian, nor American!)

Back to our regularly scheduled argument!

Frankly, I wonder where all this special illumination and insight is arising!
Or I wonder what some of 'em have been smoking, [IMG]

'cause it's gotta' be some really goo-ood stuff!

Read the other entries of the blog and his external links. The blogger is critical of Obama and mocks his supporters by saying they "worship" him like he's their messiah. Nobody actually claims that Obama is the messiah.

Ah, yes, evidently Christians can only vote for Senator McCain or else they will lose their wings according to some folks. :)

Yeah, well, when you are an Arkansas Razorback football fan(as I am) you had to learn to love the ground game while Houston Nutt was the head coach.
