Just asking for clarification, but it seems to happen alot here.
Who is it you are wanting clarification on?
Well, I don't go around spreading rumors. You'll never hear me repeating gossip, so you better listen close the first time.
Yes! Another fan of the infamous He-Haw era! a he-he, a haw-haw-haw!
To seriously answer your question, I'm not sure. If it goes on in PM it's hard to detect.
I guess it depends on what you mean by gossip. Do you mean members talking about someone else through PMs or email? Do you mean members spreading something about another member(open forum or pm or email) that was supose to be secret? Or do you mean discussions about people in the news, more public people then most of us here?
You might explain a little first please.
It was once detectable by everyone here during a 2 hour period when another poster(who was repeatedly banned for being a troll), had private information about me they gained from a buddy of their here on the board, whom I thought was my very good freind. Anyway, they plastered it all over the board, in every forum.
It was obvious there had been some gossip, and sharing of private emails, which the so called friend had kept.
PM me and I'll tell you
"I'll tell you this 'just for prayer', you understand.
It's from a good source, and always has to be, for me, 'cause I'm not passing on gossip!" :saint:
I, too remember the old Hee-Haw show. Great, clean humor. The late Jerry Clower and the late Grady Nutt were both outstanding Christian witnessess, on the show. Our loss at not being able to hear them, is Heaven's gain.
Now, as references the OP.
I never say anything about anyone personally, unless it's good.
And boy, some of this stuff I'm telling you is really good!
After further thought _
Is gossip a problem on the BB?
No problem at all.
Some folks seem to become quite proficent at it, in most any setting.
I'm sure they are well able to adapt their talents to about any setting - - - -including the BB! :tear:
Here's my take: "This thread is unnecessary."
Who told you?
My senses whispered it in my left ear.
Um, I see no need to meet the requirements you suggest. Gossip on the BB would not include PM's due to the privacy of their nature. Only those posts which make it onto the "Baptist Board" would be considered as if they are to be viewed as gossip when they refer to other indiviuals not presently members of BB.
Rod Bell would be a good one that has been gossiped about.
You're absolutely........... WRONG!
It is most necessary to help squash gossip on the BB.
That would mean that your sense has left your mortal body and has become subject to the power and principalities of the air.
Are you sure you wouldn't like to rephrase your response, humorously as you'd like to think it was?
I have always firmly stood on the Biblical principle: if you're not part of the solution, then keep your nose and your mouth out of the situation, else all you do is compile upon and complicate the problem.
The only "problems" I compile upon and it actually causes an advantage is a compost pile. The next year i am able to help fertilize my garden with its rotten compost.
Are we going to get a list of names after your investigation?
Don't spread this around but I have got to tell you something you need to know about salamanders....
Lots of gossip in PMs, and the PMs are part of the BB.
Discussing peolpe who have a public life isn't the same.
