Should this House Resoultion be stopped?
YES! it would be as silly as making D.C. the 51st state.
What does it mean for us? As far as I can tell it would upset some in PR, although it's been 14 years since the last attempt to vote for itself to be a state. I don't think I have a dog in that fight.
Honestly, I think this is an issue for Puerto Ricans. I personally don't see a reason for them to become a state. I think they are better off just as they are. If they want to become as state let them. If not, fine. This is something they have to decide.
Create a new state which is 90% on welfare?
You mean the 58th state of course.
OUCH. That would mean they are ahead of Obama's plan for this nation.
Partly true. Yes, PR must first vote - if they approve - then the US Congress must then apporve it.
