Is it a sin to clone yourself? If so where is it in the bible?
Would cloning yourself be God's will? If so, where does it bless cloning in the Bible?
Yes. The world definitely does not need 2 of me. Just ask my husband.
Question seems myopic. If limit sin to what is "in" or "out" of the Bible we've misunderstood sin.
attempting to create life apart from God's plan for normal reproduction is sin. (I did not say other methods of becoming pregnant other then s*x, thats another thread) Man will always attempt to play God.
It's not in the Bible, and the motive behind it would determine if it's sin or not. I would love to clone my organs in the instance one of mine fail one day. There would be no chance of organ rejection.
The cloning process creates an identical twin of yourself. Which would have a separate unique soul. I would have to say that it would depend on what you wanted that clone for.
Do you want it for organ harvesting?
If so then you would be killing an individual to sustain your life. That would be murder.
I don't think it should be done on humans, you're not letting that individual have their own identify. They could probably be raised halfway normally but if they ever found out what they are, that would be some serious mind games.
Individual organs and tissues, sure, but not an entire individual.
I don't think cloning people will ever be successful. They haven't successfully cloned animals yet, I don't think. That poor Dolly the sheep had a lot of problems and died.
Just the experimentation in trying to clone people is wrong, since they might not live.
I'd say they're pretty successful, all kinds of animals have been cloned, there's hundreds alive right now. Dolly lived for 7 years and died of an unrelated illness, and she was created like 14 years ago. I'd say that was a success, and we've learned tons since then.
Well, I heard that Dolly died due to abnormalities from cloning.
I guess I haven't been keeping up - I didn't know there are hundreds of cloned animals alive right now. What sort of animals? Are they living normal healthy lives with the normal life span?
I am still against cloning humans, however. I think it would be done to only use their organs or use them for something, which is wrong.
Dolly died from cloning complications, it was reported in the news.
Many many animals died before they had even one to live, there were many mutations.
If one is cloned, wether they be the original, or the clone, they are no longer unique like God created them to be.
It is the hight of human arrogance to think they (man)can create a life apart from the natural reproduction God created, and to believe this isn't offensive to God.
If this was addressed to me, I wasn't talking about cloning myself to harvest organs...I was talking about cloning my organs.
Wow! I should have cloned my pancreas before becoming a diabetic. Or maybe I could have cloned a dozen or so of them and used each one until it went bad. Oh well, thank God for insulin!
didn't the pharisees have a problem by creating more laws as a "hedge" around the law to protect it become a problem?
The bible is silent on cloning. However, it does say to reproduce and fill the earth. Doesn't specify method of reproduction.
I'm from Missouri so show me that this is the case. (I'm not really from there. But it seemed a fun thing to say)
How about if I think my DNA is superior and felt that there should be more than just myself walking around with it?
There is this famous saying.
