Assuming sentient races in Universe, and them needing a Saviour...

can jesus be reborn on different worlds, or would it be God becoming a different person to save others?

Would heaven than have Multiple versions of God the Son running around, each One to judge each seperate race there?

But why would we assume that if it was not given in the Creation account?

If your doctrine is based on extra-biblical speculation, you might think pontificating about what the Bible does not address is not "adding to scripture." Of course others have a different view. :)

Using our bible centric view, it tells us God made the earth, moon, sun and stars to provide our environment. It does not address if other earths, moons, suns and perhaps some of the same stars might provide an environment for other of His creation. It is silent. So to take either side, yes He created other peoples for His possession, or no He did not create other peoples for His possession is simply speculation, something the Bible tells us to avoid.

    1. Assuming sentient Races on other planets is quite a premise on which to start a discussion...Kind of like... "Assuming we all worked with a base-8 number system instead of a base-10 number system..."

    2. Anyway, Here's why I don't think there are other intelligent races in the universe...and therefore only ONE incarnation:

"But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God." (Hebrews 10:12)

    This sounds like it was a one-shot deal to me...for humans, who were created in God's image. Remember, He did create one other race of sentient beings: Angels...."God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment;

exactly! that was my point of the OP, for IF we hold to other Setient races, wouldn,'t we be forced to have those various 'jesus" roaming around?

I agree with you, my OP was just trying to show what it would mean to hold to other inteeligences were created by God along with us!

Not necessarily. You are assuming those worlds are fallen worlds like earth. What if their Adam and Eve did not sin? What if that world is still sinless?

C.S. Lewis' book, Out of the Silent Planet, examines this idea. Earth is the only fallen world. If you are really interested in the idea read this book.

Are you from a foreign country and not very good with English? Jesus should be capitalized out of respect for our Lord and Savior.

I wanted to pine in on this subject but after multiple readings of this I just do not know how to take it seriously. I do hope it goes well for you.

Those worlds don't exist. All that universe is out there just showing man how big God is. And once we go down that path of what if, we open the door for confusion that is not of God.

At the moment no one can prove there is intelligent life on planets other than earth and neither can they prove there is not such life on planets other than earth.

God is bigger than any of us can ever know. We will never know all there is to know about God. We will never know all that God has done.

There would be no confusion if we found there is such life on other planets. We would discover that God had done something that we did not know about previously.

Anyway, Out of the Silent Planet is a very good read and presents a very interesting idea to ponder, 'what if earth is the only bad apple in the barrel?'

Since I sorta brought this up in another thread I'll say this and be done with it.

    1. If (this is a pretty big "if" since I don't believe there is intelligent life out there opens if there is we won't ever find out) there is intelligent life other than humanity why must we think God only created humanity in His image. Since God (the Trinitarian conception at Creation) is simple, that is without physical form, the image of God must (then) not be a physical form but a spiritual essence. So why is it that God is limited to only creating mankind?

    2. If God did create other life wouldn't it make sense that His inspired revelation would be specific to them? Why burden His senitient creation with thoughts about other intelligence that we would never encounter? (Actually I think the discussion about the nature of revelation, ala biblical revelation, is fairly significant here) Since rational theology rejects a dictation view of inspiration of the whole corpus, why would the writers of the various books of the Bible have even thought about other intelligence?

    3. If God did create sentient beings other than humanity, why is He only limited to revelation to humanity? Isn't God obligated to reveal Himself to that other creation in a means appropriate to their form and function?

    4. Given the theory of the multiverse I think we've got a much larger conversation here in general.

    5. This is all theory folks...there is simply no way in our lifetime or the lifetime of our next 15 generations that we would encounter the closest possible systems to support life...and be able to relay that information back to the rest of humanity.

BTW, Lewis' book mentioned above is quite good here. :)

Why can't we take it that mankind is UNIQUE and was ONLY being created in very image of God? that all of His creation was by him to be received to us in eternal state?

Because that's putting a limitation on God. We have no idea of what He may have done or didn't do that's beyond what He revealed in the Bible.

God gave us what He wanted us to know in the scriptures and via the Holy Spirit working in our lives. Anything beyond that is trying to put God in a box built from our imaginations and speculations.

How is it that it is putting a limit on God? Who said or implied that God could do nothing else? The way I read his post was that this was what God chose to do not that he believes it is only what God has the ability to do.

God can do anything that would be consistent with his attributes and his nature...

just saying, what is wrong with seeing that Humans ALONE were created as sentient beings in his image, that we are it?

Short answer would be God is limited by truth because He is Truth and cannot change His Nature. But I guess I'll have to get a bit deeper:

On the same equal grounds of reasoning why couldn’t I ask, Why can’t there be more than One God? I'll explain why I would ask that in return as I think your view necessarily evolves into an unavoidable view of polytheism.

No, God gave His Only Begotten here on Earth to serve His purpose in one creation. Did He have more to give? Seems to me to suggest more forms of creation according to your explanation in turn would unavoidably lead to suggesting more forms of God, more than one image, more than one purpose in creation (which He carefully explains the One sacrifice He made for that creation, i.e. ....US) (and Yes! We are special ) a possible conception of more than a Trinitarian nature…an unavoidable view of polytheism…or at a minimum the need of multiple ways and forms of sacrificing His One and Only Son beyond the physical and beyond the Spiritual realm of His existence again and again. No, there is good reason to believe God is limited by Truth (Him being so) to one creation considering His purpose and the One sacrifice He made to bring eternal spiritual life into his image baring creatures and His Nature to believe that He didn’t go about doing it again.

Big problems with trying to suggest a some type, any type of multiplicity of Nature of One God, multiple images or multiple means of redemption.

that is why i hold to JUST humanscreated as sole sentients in Universe...

You would have to have multiple Incarnations, or else sinless races!

wouldn't heaven have recorded those other races, in the book of the revelation? Seems ONLY humans there!

Why worry about intelligent humans on other planets, when we are in a major devoid of it here? Look @ how bad the great U.S.A gotten. We need some intelligent life all over capital hill.

All this talk about life on other planets is moot at best, asinine at worst. If the Word doesn't speak about it, neither should we.
