The Grand Old Party is changing and that is going to upset a lot of current supporters.

If the GOP would just deal with the government instead of issues of morality, they might just start to make some inroads.

Leave the morality to the church. Problem being, a lot of the folks in the church want a smaller government, but they often want to use the government as an avenue for "fixing" the nations' moral ills.

You are probably correct. But it may be a strategy of keep the people upset on morality issues so they will not think of their real problems which we do not want to address. Who really knows?

Rather a contradiction isn't it. "I want smaller government that keeps out of my life, but I want a Big Brother Government that keeps all those evil folk who do not agree with me straight."

It seems that gays and lesbians vote almost 100% Democrat and are huge donors to the Democrats. Gays and lesbians are offended by Pauline Christianity and so therefore are not likely to ever vote Republican. So therefore it would be impossible for the GOP to win any votes by endorsing sodomite "marriage" and/or polygamy and/or child marriage.

The natural allies of the Democrats on these pagan ritual issues would be the Libertarians led in part by their well-known gay Matt Drudge.

Another thing that is happening in Harry Reid's Nevada, where they send armed men after political opponents, is that Mormonism has endorsed sodomy, even though hundreds of Mormons are walking out of the Mormon temples over this issue. What we are seeing in Utah and Nevada is the implosion of Mormonism, which has announced that there are no plans to build new temples. There is some talk that Mormons may quit wearing sacred undergarments, the laughingstock of the world.

Don't forget that Newsweek Magazine lauded Obama as the first gay president, cementing the relationship between Democrats and gays and lesbians.

I agree with Nevada - lets drop this silly thing about seeration of morality and goverment!!!

    1) end all laws about minimum wage
    2) end all laws against nudity
    3) end all laws against stealing
    4) end all laws against slavery
    5) end all laws against murder

lets face it - all those I listed are moral issues

All laws and all political issues, in fact everything is based on morality. There are no laws or political issues that are not morality based.

That is true. However, I expect you know what morality was being referenced. Moral issues like murder, theft ... violent crimes, etc. should be outlawed.

But how far do you carry this. If all moral issues are to be included then gluttony, obesity, smoking, chewing, drinking alcohol, etc. ... should be outlawed also. Carried to its extreme just about anything could be outlawed.

A political party wants to win elections. Elections are not won by driving people away.

So passing laws to fund the government is a moral issue? Balancing the budget is a moral issue? Funding an army is a moral issue? Setting a speed limit is a moral issue?

I can't see that smoking tobacco is a moral issue. You can smoke tobacco and still go to heaven, and a lot sooner.
