    OK Rufus...
When you decide whether or not the KJV is God, then let us know.

I agree. To believe the bible itself is God, is outrageous to say the least! Have mercy. I have never heard or seen anyone say that before.

Rufus, the Bible deserves reverence. In its various legitimate English versions it is the word of God. However, calling the Bible God or a god absolutely is idolatry and heresy. No Bible version deserves that much reverence! The Bible shows us the character and the will of God. It shows us the plan of salvation. It teaches us of the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. But it is not God!

You keep throwing up the Jesus dolls our church distributed to children this past Christmas to sidetrack this thread.... But I NEVER ONCE SAID THEY WERE GOD!

You on the other hand want us to worship a Book!
You want us to say that the Bible is God.
BTW, is the NT only a half God? It isn't the complete Bible...

I had heard this before, about 10 yrs ago, while listening to a KJVO preach and He used this scripture to justify it....

    Psalms 138:2
    (2) I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Personally, I'd rather not have any idolatry.

In my worldview someone who promotes and condones the use of artwork to represent the Godhead as being engaged in a fundamental error in religion, otherwise known as a "heresy". Further, this person would hold and avaow a religious opinion that is contrary to the doctrines of scripture, making this person a "hereetic".

You and pastor Anderson represent two extremes to this issue. On your side you believe the Word can be represented by a cheap plastic doll that can have its buttons pushed to speak scripture. On Pastor Anderson's side, he believes that the Word can be represented in a book. Both positions are unorthodox and deserve consideration as to why each individual believes as they do. I'm sorry to bring it up the doll thing again however, I just don't believe you are the most suitable defender against all things idolatrous and heretical.

For the record, I believe Blackbird has had the most rational well-reasoned statement on this topic to date and were I asked to defend a position I believe this is the position I would take. There really isn't much more to discuss on this thread unless or until the owner of this position decides to defend his position. Regardless, I would not desire to disfellowship from either of the brothers for holding their extreme positions or by causing them injury by labeling them as heretics.

There is a better word than "heresy" to characterize this view:

    ABSURDITY

    My opinion of course.

Pastor Anderson's silence on this and every other statement he has made here speaks volumes.

I appreciate your candor, and explanation. I too wish Mr. Anderson would respond.

This is an interesting thread to say the least.

I believe that the Word made flesh is indeed Jesus and not the written words by which we learn about the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Mr. Anderson, is not, IMHO, a conversationalist. He likes to pontificate and leave. I would like to know if he looks at the aftermath, but with no comment from him, who knows. I've been curious if he does the same in his house and church.

    God is not the KJV.
    The KJV is not God.

Equaling God to a translation of men or a translation of men to God is heresy.

We shouldn't be laughing or scorning them, though. We should pray for them. It's sad to see people wrapped up in onlyism. But to see people this blind and this misled should really break our hearts.

    Pray.

Rufus, one can say that someone or something represents God without being heretical. Saying the KJV is God, now that is heretical!

Do we call a rose a rose? Do we call a woman a woman, or a man a man? Then why wouldn't we call someone who has stated that the KJV is God a heretic? Causing him injury? Hardly! He caused himself injury by making such an untruthful and heretical statement. Being truthful about someone's errant beliefs is not injuring someone - they injure themselves by holding such non-scriptural beliefs.

There is one God and He is not made of paper. for anyone to call paper God is absolutely horrible, and paganistic, and no where near a christian statement, is nothing short of idolatry, and comes from the spirit of the antichrist.
Anderson is a trouble maker, as we keep seeing on every thread he starts. He never discusses, he yells his opinion at us and demands if we don't beleive his rubbish we are nto christans and doomed to hell. In short, he is a troll.

    Yes, and then some.

You will probably get a lot of unpopped kernels because of the design of the bag.
To the nearest metallic object, especially a magnet.

These remind me of the questions in a certain Beetles song: “If tin whistles are made of tin what are fog horns made of?”
