I tend to think that at times they have reacted in a knee-jerk style of action to certain black-and-white issues. George Zimmerman, the Michael Brown shooting, the Duke LaCrosse Team. Allowing Holder to dismiss any charges against the New Black Panthers for voter intimidation. He allows his AG to call America a " of Cowards" when it comes to race relations! Holder statement about Him and Obama being treated differently because of their being black!

There may be more incidents, so if you know of them, please add in comment's section!

I do not believe that this administration has tried to unite the racial divide in America, in fact, I believe their blatant attempts to point out racism and play the race card from the Oval Office have served to shine a light on racial problems, and widen the divide that began to heal! IMHO!

    So what say you!

I had really hoped that the first black president would be someone who would come in and help finish the bridges being built between all the races in America. Instead, any building projects have been put on indefinite hold, and the flaws and faults have had a huge 24/7 light shown on its cracks to rile up at times, new divisions! IMHO of course!

That's not an opinion. It's a proven fact.

SMH. A lot of old, white men apparently live with their heads in the sand if they think that there was healing already going on when it came to race relations. It's as though black and white people live in two different worlds. They see one thing because it's happening to them, and the white people come along and try to convince them that they are crazy and that race really isn't the problem that they say it is.

It's not an administration's responsibility to heal a racial divide. Told you that some of you are so stuck worshiping at the altar of politics that you want to make the same government that you say intervenes in your lives too much responsible for fixing all the moral ills of the country and your lives.

Pick a side of the fence and stay on it. Either you want the government to intervene or you don't.

God tasked the CHURCH to do these things. He did not task a Presidential Administration to be salt and light. He did not say that a Presidential Administration would be known by their love one for another. He did not task Presidential Administrations to love their neighbors as themselves.

So apparently there are white people who were hoping he'd be the same type of force some of you have chastised some black people for hoping he would be. Imagine that.

There is a racial divide in this country that continues to grow because of a wickedness that invades the Body of Christ called POLITICS.

Like the writer of this post, a lot of Christians want the government out of their lives, but do nothing but complain night and day about the government not changing the tide of morality for the country.

If you want to see race relations improve, then get the Body of Christ to start loving their neighbors...Black, White, Yellow, Purple and Blue... as they love themselves instead of loving as themselves only the people who agree with their brand of politics.

I hope the first part is a proven fact as I hope it was a proven fact for every administration prior. Nobody elected a President to improve race relations.

As can be seen on this board, there are white folks in the United States who have a serious issue with black folks. That's not a President's fault and it's not his problem to fix.

If you want to improve race relations, point more folks to Christ.

Problem being, that there are so many supposed evangelical Christians bowing at the altar of politics that they can't point folks to Christ and make disciples of all skin colors who love one another, because you can't duplicate what ain't in ya.

Too many in the church are more concerned with politics than they are with loving their Brothers and Sisters in Christ or loving anyone with a different political POV.

So why would some of you expect a man who you say is not a Christian to fix race relations when the lot of you who say you are Christians act and speak as though you can't stand black people or anyone who doesn't share your political POV?

It may be unfair for us to expect one person, even one as powerful as the POTUS to have improved race relations more than marginally, but he could have done that.

Instead, he made race relations worse. That was unexpected, inexcusable, and maybe even unforgivable.

So why do yall who say he's not a Christian hold him to a higher standard than you hold yourselves as followers of Christ?

If the attitudes expressed by some on this board every day are the same expressed in the "real" world, then some of you have done and said some inexcusable maybe even unforgivable things too.

Folks inside the church make racially prejudiced negative statements and then wonder why there is a decline in race relations.

Some of you need to wake up.

So it's fanning the flames to respond to racial prejudices? If the powers that be weren't always trying to excuse their racial prejudices as fair and balanced, there would be nothing to which to give a response.

    The Obama administration is nothing concerning racism compared to white administrations of the past that;

    1. Supported slavery
    2. Supported Jim Crow laws.
    3. Opposed minorities voting.
    4. Opposed the civil rights of minorities
    5. Support the continued setting up of roadblocks to keep minorities from voting
    6. Supported separate but equal laws
    7. Opposed an integrated military
    8. Support White Privilege over minority rights

This is simply a starter list.

Obama has been pulling the ancient divide and conquer ploy on us. He has used "race" to divide us by design.

What's so hard to understand about that?

One might also venture that the GOP is trying to hide it's racial prejudices by fomenting about The President's.

There's a new brand of Jim Crow, but white "political" conservatives don't ant to acknowledge it.

Notice how the GOP never addresses the Southern Policy begun by Nixon. It is interesting now that it is starting to bite them in their posterior.

    Not a thing.

But that is why race relations are worse now than they were when he took office. That's the way he wants it.

Exactly. Divide and conquer. It's all by design.

One would think we've seen this tactic in politics enough now to recognize it when we see it but as you can see from the previous replies in this thread most people would rather spend their time and energy blaming the other side for everything.

Divided we fall and Washington knows it. That's why they use the divide and conquer tactic on all the time. They don't want us to unite against their "bipartisan" criminal enterprise.

If we ever did get out of the false left vs right paradigm the crooks in Washington would all be behind bars and they know it. They have to keep us divided to protect their criminal enterprise.

Both sides play us against each other to protect their hold on power.

No one expects, based upon the church that 0bam@ attended in Chicago, that 0bam@ will act in a Christian manner. 0bam@ is a radical and so he has given blacks great political power (they are feared, not liked) but he has kept economic power from all Americans, preferring instead a more powerful federal government.

I wish that you would define what it is that you think that Nixon did. Most Republicans think that Nixon was too liberal and his legacy has been whittled down to his children and his foreign policy. The greatest Republican of 20th century is considered to be Reagan, followed by Coolidge and perhaps Ike.
