Know that we can agree to disagree on timing of rapture, but is Pre Mill itself the primary view still held in baptist circles overall?

As I would say that the breakdown is something like this (greatest to least):

    1) Dispensational Premill
    2) Nondispensational Premill
    3) Amillennial (mostly Calvinists here)
    4) Postmillennial (very few Baptists here)

I still hold Pre-Trib and Pre-Mil, not sure of the rest. Yes I am a dispensationalist.

I agree that this is pretty accurate.

So what are the positions here?

I lean toward amillennialism, but I can see the points of non-dispensational premillennialism. Postmillennialism makes no sense to me at all.

MacArthur is a strange "bird" theologically, for sure! Although I disagree with him on eschatology, I respect that he is willing to maintain his convictions even if they are out of the mainstream.

What marvels me regarding eschatology is the connection between eschatology and general hermeneutical frameworks. Dispensationalism fuels premillennialism, and covenant theology fuels amillennialism and postmillennialism. Of course there are hybrids in between.

My move toward covenantalism sparked my shift in thinking from premillennial to amillennial.

Wow tom, you really believe everything has already come to pass?

Other shoe drop--Can you explain how in 100 words or less? :)

    1. (Do these numbers count toward the total?) God said "soon", "quickly" when speaking of the 2nd Coming.
    2. All these things Christ prophesied in Matt. 24 (and Mark, Luke cross-ref.) were to come upon "this generation".
    3. This is the same generation which has the blood of all the prophets on their hands.
    4. Until heaven and earth passes away - and not until then - all of the Law is still in force (every jot and tittle).

There are others too, but this is good for now. Under 100 words. Whew!

Not convinced but then I choked you to an easy essay. If your in the mode to convince you should have an audience and there all out to the Wednesday go to meeting so Id advise that you do it some other time. Still Im not convinced, but it is fascinating (to me).

    Blessings & Peace Bro. Tom

Non-dispensational premillennial & the "tribulation" occurred around 70AD. I'm just waiting for His return.
