Very good post. There is not a dime's worth of difference between Democrats and Republicans. How many times does it have to be said? Those of you who in thread after thread argue endlessly about the virtures of either side have a very flawed view of the US Constitution and American history.

He didn't. Maybe I worded my response wrong, but I agree with what he said. I was referring to the endless posts trying to create a difference between Republicans and Democrats when there is none, or not much of one. That position in no way defends Obama on any aspect of his philosophy. Neither does it defend the way George Bush did his job. After all, had he done his job the way he was elected to do, this clown would not be in office now.

I missed those. While comparing the past Republican party to the Dems this is true. Of late there seems to be a much stronger difference. I am not speaking to the motivation behind the recent changes. At the same time there has always been small differences.

    I didn't think it did.

    Most likely not.

Yup. I haven't ever seen you stick up for one of my hijacked threads. And you don't hold any authority here.

I don't agree. I think the comparisons to Bush's words are right on topic. Bush has stated Islam is a peaceful religion. Several times. Like it or not.

I think it is you who has the blinders on, you can see the contributions American Muslims make in our country. We have American Muslims doing great things at every level of our society and the fact that you say we have the blinders mean you are totally blind to this fact.

You are correct Bro Curtis, Obama isn't the first to express these sentiments. Also, we've tried killing the Muslims for the last 8 years and you see where we got with that. Why not make friends of the peaceful Muslims and hope they will run the non-peaceful terrorist our of town.

How about Bush claiming that Christians and Muslims worship the same god and Muslims will get to heaven by a different route than through faith in Christ? Somehow I haven't heard Obama make this "statement of faith."

There is a world of difference between muslim citizens and the religion of Islam.

Bush did a number of things I did not agree with:

    1. Allowing the Republican Congress to spend like drunken democrats.

    2. Expanding medicare to include prescription drugs.

    3. Attempting to grant amnesty to all the illegals in the country.

    4. Allowing Paulson a free rein in the bailout.

However he did keep the country safe from Islam after 9/11.

We still know nothing about O'bama rex except he is expanding the role of dictatorial government in business by bribery and coercion. He is currently overseas dissing the United States at every opportunity. His address to the Turks was disgusting and may indicate his true relationship with Islam.

Isn't it like saying Christians in American or American Christians?

Islam is the religion of Muslims. How do you separate the Muslim from their religion?

I disagree with this but it's different from saying that the Islam faith has shaped our country. It has not. There is no evidence that it has shaped it in a good way, which is what Obama is saying.

I know Bush said Muslims worship the same God but never read him saying they will get to heaven by a different route than through Christ. Can you give the source for this?

I think it was the Arabs and their learning that did these things. It was not because of Islam which is not oriented toward preserving anything that contradicts their faith. Islam is very closed to ideas contradictory to Mohammed and teachings about him.
