And I await the condemnation of Israel by our friends at the U.N. And I expect some of our members to support removing all financial & military support from Israel for the criminal act of being fed up.

    Not suprised.

Wow... trouble ahead I think. Israel seems to be stuck in the middle of it.

The only true peace for two waring factions is Christ and His Cross. Will they ever see it?

You're too late. Coffee at One already condemned them.

    Somewhat hypocrytical maybe...

Civilians are being killed, even murdered every day, war must stop but will not. Soldiers signup knowing what may happen. Hate is the most destructive force and it is part of sin.

Some soldiers are conscripted I know.

The Gospel is the only answer.

War is just not Christ's Way, neither should it be ours.

Israel, in the past, has traded prisoners for Israeli hostages.

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060712/ap_on_re_mi_ea/lebanon_israel_clash

Israel has carried out several prisoner swaps with Hezbollah to obtain freedom for captured Israelis. An Israeli civilian and the bodies of three Israeli soldiers were exchanged for 436 Arab prisoners and the bodies of 59 Lebanese fighters in January 2004. In 1985, three Israeli soldiers captured in Lebanon in 1982 were traded for 1,150 Lebanese and Palestinian prisoners.

Why would Hezbollah think it wouldn't work again?

Why wouldn't Hamas think it would work for them, since it did for Hezbollah?

Israel set a dangerous precedent and will pay for it repeatedly.

The past is undeniable. Hopefully they are reversing this trend and will not reward terror with hostage swaps and land deals.

I disagree. God's chosen nation has always been a nation of warriors. Jesus himself will rule with a rod of iron.

    I cannot believe you....

put down your sword, those who live by it will die by it.

Unbelievable for a Christian to take your view point.

Christians were told to flee from Jerusalem, not stand and fight.

You amaze me, we wrestle not with flesh and blood but with.... fill the rest yourself!

Joseph, I have heard rumors that France has some problems with religious "youths" rioting & burning cars, etc. Seems like they're afraid to point at the problem. Should the Christians flee there, as well ?

It is funny how Israel was commanded to destroy every man, woman, child and ANIMAL when they took the promised land the first time....they disobeyed and payed dearly.

    Japan urges "restraint"

    Link

I am guessing that all the talk we hear about Japan doing pre-emptive strikes on North Korea are over, then? I wonder how much restraint they will show when they are the ones facing attacks. A Bunch of hypocrites.

    French sissies condemn Israel

    Link

You know, if the European Community would stand with Israel and join in the fight, they could actually see this dream of peace become a reality. But, somehow, I doubt they really care about peace in the Middle East.

    Oh, but wait a minute

Not to derail the thread, but:

    http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/wire/sns-ap-un-israel-gaza,1,7607252.story?coll=sns-ap-world-headlines

I'm glad it looks like Israel has had enough. They ought to destroy the terrorist camps in the Bekka valley as well. (Is that area still under control of Syria?)

Yet, there are those in this world who think this sort of thing will work. Can't we all just get along?

BTW, I am a Brit, a Welshman actually who lives now in France. Jesus showed us the way to live and it was not the way you think. I think those of you who think that war is an answer should take stock of your Christian walk. As to this anti French sentiment I percieve, well it tells me a lot.
