Israeli officials acknowledged that Israeli war planes bombed a Reuters news vehicle, injuring all of the occupants. They further stated that the news van was in a battle zone. The pilots stated they didn't see any markings on the vehicle.

Shouldn't have been in a battle zone. Too bad they were too stupid to figure it out.

    Whats in the News?

Whats in the news? The News is in the News. The van shouldn't have been there, they knew what the risks were.

A fire zone is a fire zone. The van could have all the markings of PRESS in it, and all its occupants may be legitimate press.
As far as either side is concerned, they could also very well be operatives or soldiers of the other side masquerading as PRESS in a van camouflaged as PRESS.
I'd fire on them if I were an Israeli soldier, or a Hamas terrorist.
They're free game in a fire zone.

I didn't realize Kentucky was a battle zone. What in the world are you talking about?
